I haven’t cooked stock from bones for a while and that really isn’t the problem. I didnt want to cook one of my big chickens from the freezer as we have plenty of food out. So I’ll have to go out and get a small one. He’s adamant that we won’t use a stock cube and I’m indulging him as I love his new found interest in food:)

You can always freeze the chicken meat before making stock -- great that he is so interested in cooking well.

I've just come back from Morrison's, on my way back from church. It was HEAVING! There were long queues for every checkout, all waiting for the 10am witching hour when we could start paying. Someone said A was opening from 10 am too -- they don't usually open until 11 am. Believe it or not, I shopped because Mum is running out of Steradent and A was out of it last night.

Forgot to say last night when I posted about no decoration reductions in B&M and A, that I also checked the Serrano ham which someone said was scanning at £10. Sadly not in my A, it wasn't...

Loads of fat will come out, I think. I'd love to hear how you get on with it. I've only eaten it once and the friend who cooked managed to get grease everywhere as it overflowed the roasting dish. We also ended up eating it cold as her DH struggled for ages to work out how to carve it.
