We have been away for a couple of days - our offspring clubbed together and got us a night in a very posh country house hotel and spa in the Lake District with a 5 course dinner :T - joint Christmas presents/anniversary presents.

It was absolutely gorgeous - very Christmasy and we have been very spoilt - Eldest child did all of the organising, she is very good at these things.

I think I prefer the lakes in the winter when its wild and untamed and the tourist hoards are not as intrusive.

We went up through Windermere and then stopped at Ambelside for coffee - oddly realising we have never been to Ambleside before and then onto Keswick.
OH had a full on paddy before we set off, saying he would not want any lunch (as if) and he didn't want to go to Keswick as it would be fully rammed with crowds and impossible to get onto the carpark. Needless to say by the time we got to Keswick he did want lunch and the carpark was not full and it was not that busy.
So we ended up in Greggs and used an android pay £5 voucher - I was thinking of taking him somewhere nice for lunch but sometimes in view of the full on paddy it wasn't worth risking booking anywhere and he was happy enough with Greggs ...

Thought I saw you passing by, hope you seen me
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

    Weight loss 3 stone :D

Does anyone else think there was less totally free cashback offers this year - previously we have had free selection boxes, free cranberry sauce, chicken gravy and paxo from TCB, free tonic water from COS last year etc ....
