Hey Guys,
A new site is launching on the 9th of May 2008 called https://www.unitextbooks.net.
You can buy and sell books for FREE
This year it will be based in Plymouth but will be national by mid 2009.
Check out https://www.unitextbooks.net0 -
Just to let you all know I have bought and sold a couple of my books on https://www.coursetext.co.uk which doesnt cost anything. Its been around a year or so I think because Ive used it last year and this year and will use it again if needed!0

If your still at the uni, or live within striking distance, then notices on relavant notice boards can normal result in a quick sale. i.e. First year texts notice on the first year board.... its how I got rid of my chemistry books in my second year.
If you use amazon watch the postage costs. Or price your books to take into account that it might cost £10 to send it somewhere.0 -
I think teh one problem i've found with selling text books is that certain courses bring out new editions every year, so if you have the old edition its not relevant to that year. I'd probably second the idea to advertise around uni. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

listmyunibooks. com
This website is designed to put sellers of old/used university books in contact with buyers currently studying at university and in desparate need of your books.
It is extremely cost effective. You do not pay the excessive fees of the major websites out there and you are in complete control.

Back in the day there was a book store in most cities serving this purpose...good/bad, right or wrong....have they all gone, is the internet the only answer....and please, I ask in genuine interest regards the changing times0

I'd recommend Ebay.
However, at my University, there are events where new students buy textbooks that are no longer needed by other students. This could be your best bet!0 -
PlayTrade would be my choice - mainly because you set the price, which has to cover postage (rather than the flat fee of Amazon), and because it sticks around on there until it sells (unlike eBay where the most you'll get is ten days)."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

Where about do you live? Am starting the same course this year. Am in Liverpool, but would be willing to travel a little bit.0

i have found a realy good new site where you can list your books for just £1 and then other students buy them directly from you, there is also some real bargins to be had for buying new books aswell! site is zulubooks.co.uk its a good idea to list your books as early as you can so they are there to buy when everyone returns to uni and there is no expiry date on your listings! couldnt be better!0
