Blackmore thread locked

We'll see whether this gets deleted.
The blackmore thread has now been locked, it increasingly seems pointless to post these retail advertised high risk investment warnings as mse just rollover with any threats.
This is a car crash waiting to happen, they simply shouldn't be advertised in the press even with disclaimers. Just waiting for these to go bust and see thousands of pensioners lose their life savings, it's obvious but everyone hides behind the small print.

"income certainty"
if you bet on every horse in a race you're guaranteed income
to claim "income certainty" just seems to me to be a disingenuous play on words0 -
MoneySavingExpert.com is part of the MoneySupermarket Group, but is entirely editorially independent. Its stance of putting consumers first is protected and enshrined in the legally-binding MSE Editorial Code.
It seems hypocritical of MSE to claim to be editorially independent, while at the same time locking any discussion they do not like. How is that "putting consumers first"?0 -
i don't understand why the thread has been closed. we do have people here who sound off negatively even if they don't know what they are typing about.. at the same time, that needs to be the basis of the forum: people exchanging their views. all the mods really ought to do is to keep it fair. the pack of wolves have been supported by the mods in the past when they round on a poster that has a different perspective/understanding to theirs.. but now it seems to have swung the other way, with a reluctance to allow negative comments re. some products to be at all.:think:0

I'm a bit confused - you're understandably anti-Blackmore, so why would you believe it to be beneficial to consumers to have open threads on it alongside others, with the possibility of shills also posting? The blackmore thread has now been locked, it increasingly seems pointless to post these retail advertised high risk investment warnings as mse just rollover with any threats.0

.?? On that strange reasoning no one could ever post a warning or even information about a dubious financial product in case “shills” posted and confused people ? Shills tend to get pretty short shrift here and indeed their posts tend to be counterproductive so I see no need for concern on that account. The thread was started by someone asking about it - my assumption would have been that it was locked because of the nature of the product, not because MSE don't want people warning others about the nature of the product?
Once a thread is locked it drops out of sight quickly. Yes it can be found via search but few peopel even seem to know about the existence of search let alone use it.
I find it very strange it’s been locked. If there was a legal challenges from the company and MSE crumbled I’d expect it to be removed rather than locked.0 -
Have MSE (corporate) given or changed their directive on some of these posts?
From a lay persons perspective, having read the thread, I cannot see anything contentious in any of the posts and fail to see why the thread was locked.
There are two options as to why it was locked:- Pressure/request from the company involved to MSE; if so what have they got to hide?
- MSE deciding to close the thread arbitrarily, if so why? What purpose does it serve?
Personal Responsibility - Sad but True
