So you also believe that Ryanair deliberately split up couples for the craic?

I refer you to my second sentence.....

It's to 'encourage' people to pay to book seats. Have you got that yet or do you need that explained further to you?

Yes I realise that is what people like you think.

    You’re wrong though....

I saw the interview with the pretty ineffectual Steph McGovern and Ryanair's head of Marketing (Kenny Jacobs).

He said there was no splitting up of passengers.
Whether you believe it or not is up to you.

A statistician said the odds of 4 researchers on the same booking on 2 return flights being split up were odds of 1 in 543 million.

"Ooooh, that's massive, isn't it", said the insightful Ms McGovern. :rotfl:
It relates to a bit on Watchdog where 4 researchers booked flights on the same booking and were split up.

And this post seems to support the theory that couples are being split up:

Checked in to a flight today and me & my partner were separated despite there being 2 free seats next to both of us...

I don’t think that picture proves anything.

All the picture shows is that there are two rows of free seats next to each other. I would imagine that they have to keep a small number of consecutive seats free for people who don’t pay to reserve their seat and are travelling with children.

Of course it is much more exciting to say that they have done it on purpose!

Yes, Ryanair are deliberately splitting up parties who’ve don’t pay to book seats together. It’s another way for them to make a few £.

I didn’t believe it initially but since flying multiple times with them, it’s done consistently and deliberately.

It causes hassle on the plane when you’re sitting next to someone else and your travelling companion is sitting next to theirs and then everyone is playing switcharoo.

If you’re spending a holiday with someone, being separated for a few hours is hardly the end of the world. And especially not when the cost to sit together is more than the cost of the flight!

I’ve also mentioned before that in the case of an emergency onboard people are going to want to be near their loved ones and that’s going to cause chaos and loss of life, but Ryanair don’t care because in the meantime it can flag their falling profits a bit.

I also think it will hit their onboard catering as before I imagine one of a couple would fancy something and also buy something for their other half, now they’ve lost a lot of sales!

    O-kay.

And the number of middle seats all taken with window seats and aisle seats available either side....?
As per the 2 MSE-started threads)

Five middle seats being taken? That is your evidence......

If this as true then why has no Ryanair employee come out and admitted it? It seems unlikely that not one whistle blower has come out and declared this is company policy!

    It clearly isn’t.

If people are so inept as to be incapable of exiting a plane as instructed in an emergency then they shouldn't be allowed to travel overseas.

    You can't legislate for stupid.

    Evidence?
    Sorry, I didn't realise I was in court....:rotfl:

I'm merely posting what other people have experienced to back up the fact that this has been discussed widely on here and in the press.
    M'lud. :D

Fair enough. You can’t back up your argument with convincing evidence so you’re deflecting.

In your position that is all you could have done so well played ;)
