    Halfrauds - never shop there.

    Why?

I mean, I wouldn't let them service my car or do anything major to it, but they have decent part checking facilities and fairly decent products you can get over the counter usually for a decent price. You can often undercut them if you can wait for delivery though.

In this case they did everything correctly; they offered an upgrade to arguably better bulbs, sold and fitted a pair. They didn't lie to the customer or con her into extra work.

Sure, if she'd gone to a motor factors and then a local garage she could presumably have bought and had them fitted for a bit less but is that worth the hassle here? How much would she have saved?

My local garage charge a fiver a bulb to fit (or sometimes free, depending on who you get).

I've always found Halfords to be courteous and helpful, and their prices fair. I wouldn't go to them for servicing, but for parts, add-ons and helpful advice they are fine, in my experience.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
  • Am I the only one who has a set of replacement bulbs in my car?

Halfords couldn't have sold yer missus the "wrong" bulbs then . .

Nope. I also have one headlight and one sidelight bulb in all cars I've ever owned. It's easy as pie.
