C'mon Siju, find those pennies, those pots need filling
DH handed me £10.23 in exchange for a £10 note so all but the 3p has gone into the potand sold our old shoe rack (as DH got fed up with all the shoes on the floor and made us a 4 shelf one out of old scaffolding planks :rotfl: looks fab though!) so another £2 from that to go in too
I need more £2 coins! this is the first year that I haven't even got halfway up my tini'm going to be a bit disappointed come opening day to not have all that gold glinting back at me

Hi all, I'm still here. Potting away slowly but surely. Can't wait to open it. I've definitely done better than last year where I started late but potted £60something! Not sure if I'll hit to £500 target, but anywhere close and I'll be over the moon.
Come on people! If you're reading and thinking "oh it's too late" then STOP! It's never too late, anything you save is a bonus and will fuel you even more for SPC12!LBM: October 2016: £20,130 / Current: May 2019: £12,576 37.53%DFD: [STRIKE]February 2024[/STRIKE] April 2022?0 -
Hi everyone, I’m still potting although don’t post very often. Just got back off holiday on Saturday and had over £20 in change in my purse so put it is all in the pot. My pot is full now, I must go and get another one. It’s my first year doing this challenge and I’ve picked up some tips along the way and will have seperate tins next year! I’ve been giving all my £2 coins to my mum - long story but she’s always collected them for holidays etc, next year my nephew gets married and mum wanted to stay on site (dad disabled so will be a lot easier) but it’s very expensive, so she’s said to me and my brother that she’ll foot most of the bill, even though I know she can’t really afford it and we’ll give her what it would cost for us to stay in cheap hotel which doesn’t nearly cover it, I want to split it but my brother says they can’t afford to and mum wants to be fair etc etc so she’s collecting her £2 coins to go towards it so now, every time DH or I (or my teenage sons) have £2 coins, we put it in her pot to go towards the accommodation! Feel like I’m doing my bit then and she’s managed to pay the deposit with the £2 coins :-) anyway, I don’t anticipate I’ve got a massive amount of money, especially seeing some of your totals frombprevious years but I’m quite proud of myself for actually sticking to something and trying my hardest to save! Can’t wait for opening day and will be prepared to start again with more organised pots!0

Hi Potters! I'm so pleased to be back with you all again.Forgive me please but we've had so many problems which have stopped me contacting you.
Our Housing Association decided they were going to re-do our kitchen diner! We told them we didn't want it done "but you have to due to Health and Safety!!
So, 4 weeks ago they started it and it's STILL not finished yet!! Everything involved with it has gone wrong. A new ceiling was needed which was done well but oh my word the mess they left behind was atrocious!!! "Our chaps always clean up "they'd assured us, but they never did! The built-in double cooker casing which we bought 9 years ago for our double oven HAD to have new casing, we were furious as it cost us a lot of money and it's still as good as new! Still, our dear friends have benefited from that so we're delighted for them, however, some silly twit forgot to order a new one!!!!! So, we had to go without any form of cooking for over a week!!! When it finally came to the kitchen diner being painted such a hash up was made of it, so 3 days later they made him come back and re-do it. I don't know why they didn't let hubby do it himself because the so-called painter (or prat) made just as bad a job of it the second time around!!! Thank goodness it's only the new window sills that need doing now.. Though how long that'll take...!!
Our darling girl has also been going through another really bad spell with her MS, me too with epilepsy, all due to the stress for me. So, no doubt you can see things have been more than a little difficult to even think of being able to get back here on SPC.
I hope you're all very well and have been enjoying the very warm weather. For those who aren't well in any way, I really hope you get well very soon! Here's love and {{{{hugs}}}} from us all.:grinheart:grinheart
Very many congratulations on the birth of your little girl katsoocam!!! :A A really hectic time for you I know, but oh so worth it!WE have both our DGDs here with us, their Mum is in hospital, she collapsed over a week ago and was severely dehydrated and her calcium level was double what it should be. Hopefully the medics will sort her out. Worryng times x
Hi lucyhope, I've read that your DD is ok now and back home again, but by golly she was one extremely fortunate girl as that could have terrible!!!! I keep warning my DD as she simply forgets to drink!!!! I really don't think they realise just how nasty dehydration can be!! I bet you really miss those precious DGSs, it's difficult when they first come to stay, but oh how fast we get into loving having them with us...but really mixed emotions when they go back to Mum & Dad again.
Brilliant saving Emily!! :T Oh how I well remember those early days here when you were in dire straits financially!! It worried me so goodness knows what on earth you were like. I so well remember too what your relief was like when you finally found the light at the end of that tunnel!!!! :j Never forget those bad times as they'll certainly keep you on the straight and narrow!!
I was so very sad to read about your colleague's wife, MrsShazbat, what a terrible shock for her hubby. Very sad indeed.
It's good to see you too are behaving yourself, jakes-mum, though I'll bet you DH wouldn't agree!!! :rotfl:
Wonderful to see you back, Vicky, and I hope things are going well.
Where are you, 32b3 and Lynne?!!! I miss seeing you both very much indeed.
I'll be back again very soon folks. BTW, £75 saved during the time I've been away!!!
FANTASTIC SAVINGS POTTERS!!! :j Keep up the amazing work!!Have a super Friday and lovely weekendfolks!!
