Thanks Sue-UU I bought a washing machine last weekend after ours suddenly went from sounding like a bag of marbles to sounding like there was a housebrick in there.

Sadly the Grim Reaper is still doing the rounds, as a colleague's wife passed away suddenly on their way back from holiday. On the plane. She asked him if he had any tablets because she felt strange and 10 minutes later was dead. On top of all that the plane was declared a crime scene when it landed, was met by Police and no one could get off. By complete coincidence, the lady's best friend has the same name as me and has her nails done by the same salon as me so when it cropped up in conversation last weekend (my nail lady's nanna had also passed away) it sounded almost too far-fetched not to be the same person!! So that's 3 people connected through work, in 12 months. Hopefully we're done now.

I've just potted £18 in £2s as they were weighing my purse down, along with a bit of shrapnel for the bottle. Ideally, I'd like to have a good run-in to C*******s financially. Unless anything else electrical packs in, the only major expense I forsee now will be my car's MOT/service at the end of August. Other than that I'm battening down the hatches!

DD1 is finally home after 10 days in hospital, she doesn't realise how ill she's been, a whisker off her kidneys packing in completely. Although we've been very worried, it has been lovely having our DGDs with us but with a two and a half year old DGS as well we're glad it's nearly the weekend!

I promise I will pop my number in my signature as soon as I figure out how!
Little one arrived a week ago, a ten lb chunk. I did need a c section in the end. We are doing well but getting used to the challenges of new parenthood - all night feeding for example!
However it has been productive for the pot as we had lots of change ready for parking - went straight in there as my husband parked in staff in the end - and we were in for two days before and three after, so we accumulated some change from trips to the shop etc.

Awww congratulations! Hope things are settling down a little. I had my last bundle at chriatmas - don't recommend ha ha. Did you have a boy or girl? That's a good weight! Congratulations once again

    Hi all

Just popping by to see how everyone is. Maternity pay has taken it's toll financially so not potting. Savings taking a dive but I pot bits and bobs (of my darling 3 yr old doesn't get there first).

Having OH family over for a bbq soon. Hoping his brother doesn't come as I don't like thiefs in my home. Especially the kind that gets away with it.

    Take care all

Thank you! I had a little girl. Maternity pay does suck though doesn't it? I am trying to be frugal while it is still quite high, we are lucky because we can live on my DH's wage, but I need to use mine to keep our retirement ISA payments up and for my pocket money while I am on mat leave. Makes the pot for the Christmas bits all the more crucial!
