They have not said why it would take a further 10 days to sort frankly they're talking a lot of waffle!

Acas confirmed as we can prove not received they must pay her and advised to put everything in writing. Cannot do face to face as payroll dept at other end of country - as I said very large company.

Daughter at work now we can get a copy of bank statement sent tomorrow. But I am guessing they will say it will take flaming 10 days from then - by which point we will be REALLY stuck

OK then its a phone call and she doesnt get off the phone until paid.

No one thinks its reasonable for someone to go without their wage. It shouldnt be hard to get them to pay her. Even if its on the proviso that she has to pay them back if its decided its an over payment. Its a pretty shocking way to treat an employee.

Start, if you havent already, writing a complaint letter to someone above payroll. Is there a HR director/manager you can contact.

Now - nearly 2 weeks after initial report - saying they have 'investigated' and have 'proof' it was daughters mistake. Something they couldn't/wouldn't provide before.

She's at work now, shattered, worried sick and basically working unpaid!

She was speaking to hr earlier they weren't much better to be honest.

Unbelievably bad way to treat an employee I agree and a 16 year old at that!

Or alternatively if you want her to develop for the future and keep her job then get her to write in her words. She's not at school now, she's been given responsibility for which she (should be) paid and it's time for her to learn how to deal with these things with a little advice from you rather than running to ACAS/accusing theft etc etc

She's been TRYING to deal with it she's getting fobbed off and treated like an idiot at every turn!

I've now discovered the person we were speaking to in payroll earlier was more senior than she claimed to be! An outright lie!

What the company is saying is complete and utter (insert appropriate word here)!!!! They can pay your daughter straight away TODAY, they are refusing to do so as it will cost them money to do a direct transfer. I've worked in payroll in the past...it can be done!!

atolaas we are getting told a load of utter nonsense I agree (Would put it more strongly as it seems you would)

They are REFUSING to acknowledge the difficulty they have caused, are blaming everyone but themselves (daughter, bank, person who's account it went into). And are doing NOTHING to rectify the situation!

Can you please advise any technical terms for how they could do this?
