@Karmacat - just an awful day of work - was at it from 08:00 to 18:15 😔

I don't really know re. Weight. NHS claims my top healthy weight is 12.5 stones, but that seems unimaginable, would be 26% weight loss. On that metric, something like 30% there.

A bit tired from not eating much, but it's one of those "no pain no gain/loss" scenarios...

Ed - be kind to yourself - you're in a better spot than you were, weight wise.
Beanie - I think a laptop has it's information stored on the machine itself, and a chromebook stores its information online.  That's what I understood about 18 months ago, when I was looking for another device to buy.

Ed - please don't take this as a criticism because what you are doing re weight loss is great but the NHS BMI calculator doesn't take into account any other factors, there are not many men I know who are below 12.5 stones.  The fact you have said unimaginable suggests maybe you think this too.  I would like to type more but don't want to overstep the mark.  Well done on what you have been doing but in my opinion starving yourself is not a long term weight loss strategy.

@ajmoney - not taken as a criticism and long term starving not the plan. My current diet will run for 12 weeks max and I'm planning a full day off on Valentine's day.

I would like to lose 38lbs in total (36lbs would be 15% of my body weight and I'm 38 this year, so 2 for luck). I'm just over half way there.

I think 8-weeks with this mean regime is enough - the idea is for your body to reset your taste-buds (for those with a sweet tooth) and fall by the natural amount your body sheds in that period. Of course that also depends on how much we (I) were over consuming before. For me, sweet things, alcohol and cheese were my naughty things. I have finally seen a new number of the scales this morning but had shown an overall increase for Sunday and Monday. My loss now is 8lbs modest but 16 packets of butter I am no longer carrying. I do feel healthier. My joints definitely ache less already and there is no audible creaking of knees on stairs.

I thought this smart bmi site might be of interest - it takes age and a degree of ethnicity into account so it always seems a little more generous than the NHS one. It's American I think. It might be helpful if you want to set interim or final targets. Anyway, I book-marked it and it works for me! Don't be discouraged by a little plateau - me too. I will definitely be staying for the full eight weeks. You could go 12 of course but I switched to more of a fasting 5-2 mediterranean and continued to lose without my body going into the "starving, store, store!" reaction.

That smart BMI was interesting!  Erm, it had me (11 stones at 5' 6") smack in the middle of the healthy section, a BMI of 25, whereas with the NHS the same BMI of 25 puts me at the outer edge of healthy, towards the overweight.  I just want half a stone off, so my clothes loosen a bit

I have just had a look at that smart bmi site, both this and the NHS site measure mine the same (26).  This one shows me just in the green at the upper end, the NHS site has me as overweight and recommends I lose just over half a stone, I would happily lose that. I had my resting metabolic rate assessed a while ago, with doing absolutely nothing in a day the calories my body burns is very low so it is not feasible for me to lose weight through food.  They say my recommended calories per day should be 1655 - 2128, I would not be able to do my job/live my lifestyle on this.
