whether EU261 compensation is due, does not only depend on the arrival time at the final destination but, more importantly, the reason for the delay. The OPs flight left on time (rule out technical issue before departure) but landed 20 mins late in Heathrow...I would take an educated guess that the delayed landing was due to ATC/weather (including en route) which would mean compensation would not be payable

My point is that if they fail to think about it they're not using common sense. Hence my earlier advice that people need to use common sense when booking their flight. And it is common sense that 60 minutes between flights leaves little room for delays. It has nothing to do with experience, in fact an inexperienced traveller should probably be thinking about what they're buying even more than an experienced traveller.
Unfortunately common sense isn't as common as you might expect.0 -
If people don't use common sense that's their own problem, that's how it is in life in general.0
