Or, how about Motorpoint just include the £99 fee as part of the sticker price of their cars and carry out whatever preparation they consider necessary to sell the car. This just strikes me as a way of dropping the sticker price by £99 to come out cheaper in Autotrader searches.

They could do this, of course.

as a contrast, when I had my business, I would include just about EVERYTHING in the screen price, including VAT on the vans. Then would have a third of my press advertising, justifying the way I did business...all vehicles were MOT tested, fully...and I mean FULLY serviced, included was a timing belt change, even if it wasn't due, valeted to be as well presented as possible, quality paintwork repairs carried out, verified history and mileages, and options only to extend warranties and buy road tax and a VERRRRY clear, 'no haggle' policy.

Clear and transparent prices, so if someone decided they wanted a vehicle cheaper, then what would you like us to miss off....only rare occassions would someone want to not buy in this way.

    Easier for everyone.

I did build have a rather good reputation, and can proudly say building it from nothing - to become 'The name' for the place to buy a van, might actually mean I can say yes, to that.

However , certainly wouldn't want to even try to replicatemy business model these days.
