If I want to transfer money to a family member, I just do a direct bank transfer, I don't see the need to do it via paypal.

What is odd is why you would ask if they can access paypal without permission unless there were reasons to believe that there were some transactions they could question. Are you really thinking that they would have decided to investigate her because a family member made a one off financial gift for her to go on a holiday?

What?? No, did I say they would investigate her for one transaction or is this another assumption. have u read the initial post. They are looking to see if my mother and father are living together. This hopefully will be clearly cleared up by looking at statements etc. I was asking because she is worried about every tiny thing on her account from past years. Her sister had sold jewellery as a one off, had money in PayPal account, thought she could only transfer between accounts, owed money and transferred it last year some time. She is also not on any benefits or for a second thought twice about what ppl like u might perceive as weird apparently. I was merely asking can they look into this themselves if questioning it to clarify or is it something we would need to provide to prove to get this over asap as I don't want it going on any longer.

I think the OP has been racking her brains trying to think of anything that might possibly have triggered the fraud investigation. A Paypal transaction is just something that she can think of that's out of the ordinary.

I might have missed where the OP said the paypal transfer was from a family member. I read it as that the OPs mum paid for a holiday (or deposit for one) via paypal to a retailer, for a relative. Not that the mum sent money to a relative via paypal. Either way, it's really up to them how they do things. Someone might not want to give out their bank details, even to a family member.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Thank you Ames. That is probably best way to describe it. My mums health has deteriorated due to the stress of this and is over worrying (understandably) and is going over every little thing and whether we need provide anything more and that was merely all I was trying to clarify so I can get this ordeal over with as soon as. This transaction was only thing I could see that might cause any delay so I wanted to be on hand with any evidence to put it behind and put it to bed as soon as for my mums sake.

How is it a strange thing to do if there's money there and she wanted to use it? I don't understand why everything has to be fishy! Ppl have money n choose to do whatever they wish without over thinking what the rest of the world are going to think! Some ppl in this world have no idea how benefits work and how things can be perceived so they don't over think their every movement funnily enough! Simply asked a question as my mum who has NOTHING to hide is worrying herself ill wondering if so much as her buying things from the shops will look like she's been spending too much whilst on benefits etc as she has no clue about any of this and I simply was looking for unbiased unopinionated advice so we can provide everything necessary to get this sorted asap and her mind at rest but that's obviously too much to ask for so I'll leave it at that. If there was more to it I'd quite clearly need to explain that to get any logical advice??? And also I doubt I'd be on here asking for any as seems there's too many ppl ready to jump on innocent ppl with their own opinions never mind god forbid someone in this world did do something wrong.

Thank you trigger fish, glad to see someone who doesn't just come to own conclusions
If they've done nothing wrong then you or they have nothing to worry about. You posted a question on a public forum about benefit fraud, you have to expect those comments. People will have their own opinions and there's nothing you can do to stop that.
