Thank you for this Sensory, it's easy for them to make you doubt yourself, even when you know you didn't see what they're claiming was stated.
  • Hi. already use Moneybox for DDs on one current account and now need a 2 x DDs for a Barclays Blue Reward account. Plum doesnt appear that reliable so wondering if anyone has other recommendations. Not sure if the Ecology Regular saver counts as 2 x DDs.
  • If it's any help, 1 DD taken weekly qualifies for the Barclays Blue reward

I'm so sorry to ask what will probably appear to be a stupid question, but I've just spent the last hour trying to find a way of setting up a regular monthly payment into PayPal.  I've successfully added the direct debit when linking the bank account that I want this DD for, but I cannot find anywhere how you make this a regular monthly payment.  All I can find is "Wallet", "Transfer Money", "Money In", but then all it tells me to do is to log into my bank account and send it directly from the bank, there's no option to get them to "pull" the money in.  Where am I going wrong, please?  I use a PC, not an app.

I don't think Paypal DDs can be automated

How do I even do it manually though, the instructions just say log into bank and send, there's nothing about PayPal "requesting" the payment.  If I send it, won't it just be Faster Payment?  :/

It's a long time since I've used Paypal DDs but I have always used the app to pull cash in (with the DD). I don't think you have been able to use the web site to pull DDs for a number of years now

Thank you ColdIron.  If the DD was dependent on my buying things through PayPal I'd give it a miss (been reading stuff on internet which I thought suggested you could only set up a DD if you had PayPal "Credit" account).  I'll try downloading the app to see if that works then.  Can you let me know if DD works, if you (a) don't have PayPal Credit account, and (b) you don't have to make purchases via PayPal, please?
