    Hi peeps

I have some vegetables that need using up, mushrooms, onions, broccoli, tomato's, I was thinking of making a pizza, do I have to cook the vegetables 1st, or do I just put them raw on the bread, under the grill.

*Sorry if it sounds a stupid question, I've not got the hang of cooking yet* :rotfl:

I'd put them on raw, then grill for at least ten mins. Maybe steam the brocolli first as it will be hard otherwise.

You might want to put the pizza in the oven otherwise the base will be all floppy.
    .....

  • My DH makes his own pizza quite often. He makes a very thin base so it only takes about 5-6 mins in a very hot grill. Unless you like a strong onion flavour, I would cook them slightly first in a pan with a little bit of oil, until they have softened a little.

If you chop the tomatos and mushrooms, they could go on to the pizza raw.

    Hope this helps!

Make sure you drain the tomatoes a bit, scoop out seeds and inside water, otherwise pizza base gets soggy!

I often freeze slices of a takeaway pizza and then reheat them in the oven - and I've lived to tell the tale......so far!

Even if I'm having the leftovers from the fridge the next day I think that "nuking" (microwaving) makes the slices go a bit floppy and so I personally prefer to reheat them in the oven to keep them crispy round the edges.

    Hi Smiley,

There's an earlier thread with advice on reheating takeaway pizza so I'll add your thread to it to keep the replies together.
