I made pizza dough shaped it and froze it the other week, took it out of the freezer let it defrost, cooked it for 10 mins, then added the toppings and finished cooking.
the only problem I had was I didn't realise the OH has put more wood o the fire and the temp went up and I burnt ours! Bleeding MEN!

    Hi,

Not sure if it was just homemade pizza's you were wanting to know about but I buy Asda's own cheese and tomato pizza's (approx 80p for a large one) and then add my own toppings from whatever is in the fridge.
I usually have to add a bit extra cheese (I choose Mozarella as I LOVE it, lol but you can add cheddar) as there isn't much on it.
I freeze the pizza on buying it and then just add the toppings before cooking it.

i always put a splash of olive oil in the dough and after they've had all the toppings drizzle on a bit more olive oil and some oregano - it makes all the differance. friday night is always pizza night yum yum. takes a couple of attempts to fine tune it but once you get it right shop bought pizzas just are a pale imitation and taste rubbish

When we make pizzas for the sauce we use a tin of chopped tomato's but dont use all the juice as it would be too sloppy, mixed herbs (both Tescos brand) and finely chopped onions.
We use part baked french bread and all we do is cook them till they are a nice colour (not too well done). Slice them down the middle and then put the sauce on, add mushrooms, ham or whatever filling you want, cover with grated cheese and bung them under the grill untill they are a nice golden colour.

Has anyone got a recipe for a basic pizza base (using yeast), I seem to have lost mine.

Also wondered how to freeze it? After I have cooked the pizza or raw with all the toppings on it?

    Thankyou

I used this one the other day http://www.pizzarecipe.org.uk

used the recipe for the base, bunged all the stuff in my breadmaker on the dough setting.

Also used the recipe for the sauce. The only thing I added was a bit of bacon.

for the added toppings I used some cheddar I had in the fridge, some left over ham and a bit of chorizo.

It was the BEST pizza I've ever had bar none!

A bit of torn basil would have made it perfect but I didn't have any.

I've made extra dough and frozen it and am going to make a load of sauce and batch freeze that too when I get chance. Then I'll just make the pizzas as and when I need them- if you do it that way you'll save freezer space.

edit***you might find it hard to freeze a whole pizza raw as the dough is so floppy, if you freeze it cooked you need to be careful what toppings you use. If you used cooked ham then when you re-heat it, that will be the third time it's been cooked and I believe you should only re-heat once after it's been cooked? also, you might risk burning the base if it's already cooked? Also, I used pizza trays with holes in, so the base got nice and crispy, I'd advise investing them- I think they're about £1.47 each in Asda or thereabouts****

    I haven't ever re-heated a pizzahut pizza before, but don't see why you couldn't.

OH prefers it cold the next day as breakfast.....unless i get leftovers in the freezer before he's seen them/knows about them then there is no chance of them surviving in our house. I swear I live with a human hoover!
