Car dealership not been honest over deliver times

I recently got a new Insignia. I was told late October/early November ... it was delivered mid-October.
Dealers cover their backs - if they deliver earlier then you forget about the long delivery date and remember them exceeding promise.0 -

Cheers that's what I'm wondering. I'm planning on selling my current car privately as the trade in was dire. I don't mind been without a car for a few weeks as I can borrow one. I have a holiday planned just before Christmas and need a car for that. No knowing delivery date is making this tricky.0 -
What does your contract say about delivery date? I bet it says that it's subject to change.
Remember, the dealer only know what BMW GB tell them about delivery date, and that can only be an estimate at this stage. It's months away - the factory might burn down before then...0 -

Nothing at all on contract about delivery date0 -
Will it be a good thing that the car could now be a 2018 rather than a 2017 when it comes to selling it?0

Minis are in high demand, production is restricted to keep it this way and keep prices up. New spec means new order.
Your dealer will eventually be assigned a build week for your vehicle - this is the week the factory confirm the production quota for your car has been released and all the components for the car will be on the production line.
Until they have this there is nothing the dealer can tell you.
Your delivery to the dealership shouldn't be long after the car is finished - my last Audi was at the dealer two days after leaving the factory.0 -
"The Mini Hatch/Hardtop, Clubman, Convertible, Coupe and Roadster are assembled at BMW's Plant Oxford in Cowley, England, and the Countryman and Paceman are assembled by Magna Steyr in Austria. A total of 301,526 Mini vehicles were sold worldwide in 2012." (WIKI)
Note - "assembled" - from components made outside the UK. BMW made a great killing out of that particular con.

Mini production may well become yet another victim of Brexit.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

It's the constant moving of delivery date that I find disconcerting. Beginning November, beginning of December, mid December, end December.
Not necessarily.
Not all models of Mini are made in the UK.
Edit: I now see that that was pointed out later in the thread.
I foolishly replied before i had read all the posts to the end.0 -

Yet another victim? Which victims are there already? I've not seen any.0
