- Yes I will need to have it for a few months and see if I would be better off with one single rate or leave it as it is. I have seen that a rule of thumb, is to have more than 50% of your electricity on low rate. So far I am at 67% so not too bad.
By the way, checked user manual of dishwasher, 1.5 kWh for the eco cycle. Hot water comes from tab (does not heat it's own hot water).
If I heat 10 litres of water from 40 to 60C in a hot water cylinder or in a dishwasher, the amount of energy used will be the same. The biggest cost of a dishwasher is the drying cycle. If you used 5kWhs of electricity over night, this equates to a one bar (one KW) heater on for 5 hours.
