Doesnt the Cafe close rather early on a Saturday night, what sort of gender mix goes there or is it like most places in Northern Ireland and 99% male?

Hmmm not sure how early it closes, we usually go on a pub crawl lol. I have been in it during the day and at night. They do lovely champagne cocktails! I wouldnt say there are loads of fellas go to it or girls that makes it stand out iukwim. There just seems to be a good mix of people there of all ages. How late are you wanting to stay out?! I know yello opens quite late until 5am or 6am I think.
    oooooooh i luv a bargain :)

Yello would not be the place to go to if your looking to meet someone of the opposite sex.
  • Yip I agree its more of a where can I go now all the clubs r shut lol. Straight people go here too just cos its open later than any of the other clubs but u got to either like the head meltin music or ya dont go!

Agreed but it is really only straight friendly in respect that it tolerates hetrosexuals. The music is awful, its expensive to get in (£10), the ques to get in at the start take over one hour to get through and if your hetrosexual forget about trying to find someone.

There must be other places in Belfast.

You can get your name on the VIP list and not have to queue but you must get there before 2am to get in. Yip a tenner is a bit steep but people r willing to pay it and the queue is always massive! I must say though I have been once I aint in a rush back.

If ur 30 plus I think its harder to meet someone in the clubs here. They seem to be packed full of younger people. Guess it depends if you want a toyboy or not lol. Irene & Nanns is quite a nice pub. I have been there a few times. I think the apartment is full of older men trying to pick up younger women! Bar Red is quite nice too and they do lovely food. Havent been in Skye but heard it was alrite. I used to go there when it was called the Washington bar lol!! I used to drink in The Fly but its closed now for renovations. Its quite young/student type bar. Madisons is for an older crowd but its a bit like the Welly Park! we call it last chance saloon!

    Thanks guys

No i haven't found anyone yet. Went to the Take That concert not a decent man in site except for the ones on the stage. Been out to a few bars but i find the guys very unapproachable. Maybe try the dating agency

Thats cos all the men at the concert were fixated on the men doing the concert ;)

Having endorsed a particular cafe as a suitable venue, I would point all venues can have a certain degree of the "superficial"

Have you tried the simple friendly smile and hello routine. Doesnt have to be in a club, you could be doing the shopping, walking down the street and someone catches your eye.

but why does it always have to be the guy who makes the first move???

Certainly if some lady took the initiative and just smiled and said hello I would be well chuffed. It would make a pleasant change from us guys having to pluck up the courage........I'm sure I speak for the majority of guys from NI on this issue.

Well it made my day, even it was a bit tongue and cheek.
