I was convinced there was a similar thread to this on this board but I must have imagined it.

My question is where are the best pubs/clubs to go to in Belfast on a Saturday night in order to find a girl?

Well he did indicate that he was looking for a decent girl around Belfast, if that is the case I know of one or two places that he should avoid.

Thought I'd bump this thread to the top to coincide with a new thread from a male member of MSE looking for a decent female.

i was in the same position last year, had finished a 7-year relationship and did not fancy the bar scene really... ended up joining www.plentyoffish.com (a free internet dating site). found a lovely man there and we have been going out 10 months.

one thing i will say is that if you join a dating site set yourself up a totally new anonymous email address, don't have anything that people can get your surname from. simliarly, choose a username completely separate from any name you would post on forums such as this one. people will probably try to chat with you using msn so use your new email address with msn messenger (mb you don't have to use a hotmail addresson msn)

needless to say, if you are meeting someone make sure someone knows where you are and what time you intend to be back at - you can always call them if things are going well and there's a change of plans!

when my mum heard i was trying internet dating she was pretty worried, then my dad sat back and said... well mmm is it really any worse than chatting to a total random in a bar, half cut, then ending up back at theirs with no clue as to what their name is cause you've been trying to shout over loud music! (not saying this is the case with a lot of people, but it happens!)

i had probably spent about 10 hours chatting to my oh before i met him so had a pretty good idea of personality. of course people can create alternate personas online so you do have to be careful.

    good luck!
  • Thanks guys

No i haven't found anyone yet. Went to the Take That concert not a decent man in site except for the ones on the stage. Been out to a few bars but i find the guys very unapproachable. Maybe try the dating agency
