But there is nothing against discussion of something like 'romantic places to eat' or 'what is a good dating website for NI people'....
Good point, we could use the same nick-names in a chosen website. As someone else said - there was a thread a bit like this before (I actually was quite friendly with a woman via that but she turned out to be a headcase :-S).
Well, its the N.Ireland section, we're all a bunch of loonies really:rotfl:0 -

I dont know if anyone wishes to start a new thread or dig out the old one but a site worth a look is plentyoffish. There are plenty of people on there but my understanding is that there are a lot of guys just out for one thing - since it is free they have no problem trying their luck. Another one I tried was match.com but I strongly suggest it be avoided. You cannot find out if someone is a paying member or not so you then have to pay extra to find out if your emails are ever read. In my case, most were not so I have to assume that means that most NI people on there are not really members at all... hence a waste of time! You could try gumtree for personals. As a guy it is a waste of time replying to a woman's ad because she gets so many responses! On the other hand it probably works well for women as long as they are really specific! Also ok for women responding to ads because men get so little attention that they almost always respond!Well, its the N.Ireland section, we're all a bunch of loonies really:rotfl:
Trust me - loonie would be kind :PAlways overestimating...0 -
x12yhp, seems you know your way about the block.
How would I go about hitching up with someone on those sites you mentioned? what would I have to do?0 -

I should note that x12yhp is not a handle you will find on a dating website!!!
Everything depends on gender and how picky you are! As a picky male, there aren't a lot of good chances out there! But it is all pretty easy to start. On PoF (since it is free), you just sign up, fill in a few details like smoker/kids/drive (that sort of thing), a quick personal statement (a learning experience - too much and no one replies, too loose and you get inundated with idiots) and a picture (not necessary but you will have much better luck if you have one!). Easy!Always overestimating...0 -
Hi All,
I thought I would try to get this going again for those of us who have shared interests via MSE and are single.
I will put myself out in order to get the ball rolling, I am male, 24 years old, 5F 2" tall and I am looking for a female of a similar age.0 -

I think this sort of thread has happened before and was stopped because it was against the rules.... the way around it was to discuss dating but without being a dating thread, if you follow. So there are plenty of suggestions about where to look if you do a search!Always overestimating...0

Discussing techniques and tactics for meeting people is fine, just as long as there are no exchanges of personal details
I'll add this to the existing thread on dating in NI0 -
When you meet a girl you like buy her a drink then after one minute make an excuse and leave her, she will be amazed that you bought it without wanting anything in return and that will fascinate her.. later on catch her eye and see what happens.... (note to user, does not work on drunken/ chav girls)0
