I keep spamming you but I also want to say re: OH, you don't need to make it a confrontation. Just a gentle chat explaining why it's getting you down and what you want him to do going forward. You could tell him before you start that you'd like him to listen to what you're saying and let you finish before he starts talking, to avoid being interrupted and getting thrown off what you're trying to say. He can then hear the whole of your perspective.Debt Totals July 2019::

Thanks redo! I think I just need to brush up on my maths skills and try and remain calm
Easier said than done :rotfl:
Silver Queen I enjoy the spam! It's a trainee payroll administrator position... I've been faffing about on the internet trying to find questions I'm likely to be asked at interview and am feeling OK-ish. Not sure if it's competency based or not, but I will keep the STAR method in mind. I am going to draft some answers to questions that could come up today and also try and work on my maths.
My wrinkle drives me up the wall!! I swear each time I look at myself it's more pronounced :rotfl: I got some retinol serum from the Ordinary but so far haven't seen any improvement. Think I'm too far gone :eek:Total Debt : ?? / ??0 -
Not harsh at all Lucifa, I appreciate it.
Phew! I did stress after I had hit send. I think SQs suggestions re talking to OH are eminently sensible. If it helps make a note of the points you want to make to help cover everything so you don't have to revisit the conversation or (more likely lets be honest - its hard enough the first time) put up with the frustration because you can't face another 'talk'. Also, remember to mention some of the things you love him for so it isn't all 'bad' from his p.o.v.I have an interview on Thursday
They want someone who has a B in GCSE's so am worried they will see me (at the ripe old age of 28) and reject me
Brilliant news! The GCSE B is a minimum. With a degree AND workplace experience you will be a strong candidate, even without directly relevant experience. Think on WHY you want the job as that is likely to be asked given the change. Also, if there is a decent job spec, try and think of a way your experiences to date give you the competencies asked for.
I also have an interview on Wednesday so I shall cross everything for both of us x.My forehead wrinkle (which gets deeper by the day) shows that I am clearly way, way past GCSE's :rotfl:Silver_Queen wrote: »Ps glad I'm not the only one with a stubborn forehead wrinkle that just keeps getting deeper by the second...:rotfl:My wrinkle drives me up the wall!! Quick thoughts from me - It'll be about following rules rather than maths as such. I'd be looking for attention to detail, emotional resilience (you haven't paid me and my children will starve is quite hard work to not take home). Nosey is a good thing, do you push back on things that don't add up. Strong but able to bend when needed. What's right and what's legal aren't always the same. What do you do when you don't agree with a policy? (Follow it, keep your opinions away from employees but speak to your manager if you have genuine concerns, etc)My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

You have so much excellent advice it is hard to find anything to add.
I hope you can have a helpful chat with your OH soon
I have a wrinkle that I thought was a crease from sleeping strangely. It took me a week to realise it was permanent and it was a wrinkle :eek:If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Well, good news!
Fantastic advice as always and I appreciate every one of youWe did it! (I feel like it's a team effort at this point :rotfl:).
Had a lovely interview and the company seems great. The lady who was interviewing me was so nice and friendly and it felt more like a chat than an interview. The culture there seems really fab and everyone in the office was nice which is something I can't say with confidence about my current job.
When I was waiting on my Uber back to the train station she came and asked me when I wanted to start  I am absolutely over the moon!
Am slightly worried she will change her mind on me as there's no formal job offer email yet, but hopefully that will come in the next few days and I can hand in my notice and firm up moving plans. All very exciting
On a bum note I am now back in Scotland... Got the train from London right after the interview whereas I should have been staying there until Sunday. There was a muck up with my annual leave and there was a half hour tomorrow that hadn't been granted. Was supposed to be getting sorted but I called about it today and it has all been taken off me  Not too impressed, but I guess it will make handing my notice in a wee bit sweeter.
My Dad was great, he came with me to the town where the interview was and sat in Costa for two hours with my holdall so I didn't need to take it in to the interview with me/ backtrack on myself to go back to the house. Very lucky to have him go out of his way for me like that
Am now close to dropping as am so weary. I don't usually use that word to describe myself, but I am definitely weary right now :rotfl:
Hopefully that will be the last of my expensive train rides down to England and next time I go down it will be with all my stuff!
Am going to toddle off to bed now before I fall asleep on the sofa, but will be on tomorrow night to check in with diaries
Thank you again guysTotal Debt : ?? / ??0
