Hi Guys,
My old Ma had a Hudl 2, but it has finally given up the ghost.
She has spoke (by email) to the techs and they can't revive it.
If it's "dead" can photo's still be retrieved?
You will make an old lady very happy if you can.
Thanks for any advice.
Rick

are u sure it is totally dead? i thought mine was but it turned out the charger connection was loose so it was not charging altho the orange light was coming on. also hudl 2s need a more powerful charge than mobile phones and take longer to charge up on a standard charger. sometimes you need to leave them some time to get enough charge to respond when you press on. You may need to press on firmly several times to trigger it into action.0

I'll try that, Little Rock. Thank you.0

Can you not access the Hudl's memory via computer/laptop even when turned off?0

If the device has had a Google account running on it (which it probably would if extra apps have been downloaded from Play Store), then the photos and other data may have been backed up on Google Drive0
-
photos will be in 'Google photos' if tablet was used correctly
Log into google photos on a PC using the google account from the Hudl0 -
Tried it, no response. It's proper dead.
I'll take a walk to Tesco and see if their techies can show any light on it.
Mum wasn't in the habit of backing to Drive.
No signs of life whatsoever.
Thanks guys.0 -
Depending how brave you are it may be possible to open the device and disconnect the battery which may be the issue. Then connect an alternative supply whilst accessing the data.
I just checked and there are suppliers of replacement batteries and videos on how to fit them .0 -
I thought my Hudl 2 was dead a little while ago so I looked online and found this possible fix...
1. Hold in the ON and VOLUME UP buttons together for about 20 secs and then release.
2. Leave for a few seconds.
3. Hold in the ON button.
I did this and it did actually come back to life!
It's happened a few more times since, and sometimes you have to go through the process 2 or 3 times to make it work.
You may have already tried this but if not it's worth a go!0 -
Way above mu technical skills mate, but thank you for the suggestion!0

Didn't work for me, but thank you for the suggestion. I used to do something similar on my BlackBerry.0
