Really angry with Postal strike

  • Support their strike - too many politicians in this country are simply stooges of rich vested interest groups. We need industrial action to force better wage deals or face a long term decline in living standards while the gap between the rich and poor widens ever further. The scam of CPI being much lower than real inflation is not one that can be pulled forever. People now realise they are not keeping up with the cost of living.

Far from higher pay deals being the cause of inflation - the real cause is a growth in the money supply caused by lax bank lending and an unsustainable boom in house prices. Notice that no politician is proposing limiting bank lending to sustainable amounts ! How is it in anyones interest other than for the bank, to lend 8x salary at 120% value ? It isn't - and all that extra money flooding the economy finds its way back into the real money system through MEW. Limiting pay deals is asking everyone else to pick up the tab for banks and financial institutions greed.:o

It is so unfair on the posties that they are being told they need to work the hours they are being paid for. I mean thats just daft. No-one should be expected to work for their wage.

Yes, go on untill totally replaced by other service provider....

Incompetent management will achieve that faster than strike action.
  • strikes by royal mail workers most of them unlawfull ( i.e without required ballot) account for more than half of strike action in uk, glasgow spent most of the summer engaged in unlawfull strike action, liverpool and east london are "usual suspect militant areas".

distinction has to be drawn between lawfull and unlawfull strike action, todays sit ins in liverpool is unlawfull as was yesterdays walkouts in london/glasgow ( again) and east london.

I am fully aware of the difference between illegal/legal strike action. I support the Postal workers either way. When an employer is attempting to bulldoze through detrimental 'terms and conditions', I believe the workers should have the right to fight their corner.

I was shocked when I saw that one of the chief complaints was that they weren't going to be allowed to go home early when all their personal work was finished. Do many people in the country have such a luxury as part of their current contracts? I personally get given more work when the work I've been assigned is completed...

I'm glad they are honouring your 6.9%, but there was no point being angry (or even 'really angry') about being taken unawares by something that was planned in advance. If it really mattered, you could always have sent it special delivery.
