  • Hi all,

Been a little while since posted, we are down to £97,000!! We've slowed down a bit recently due to a few factors, job change etc but hopefully in a few months we'll be on a constant period to be MF in around 3 years (fingers crossed, touch wood etc!!)

Hope all your MF journies going well still

  • Evening all!

    How's everyone getting on?

    2 years 2 months in - down to £87,000!!

Reduced OP's a bit these days as going 100% OP 24/7 is hard work over 2 years but still putting a good amount away each month......... Should be half way in a few more months!!!

Good luck to all whether you are at the start or near the end

  • Afternoon all

Hope everyone is good in these uncertain times. I am currently on furlough - as I work in Automotive, work has drastically reduced, can only hope lockdown will lift soon and things will slowly get back to some sort of reality (not sure how long this will take of course!). DW is still working though which is good news.

Mortgage is still ticking over - currently sitting at £78,577 (offset as have stopped OP's for now just in case we need the cash in the near future with the said recession looming) so not too far off halfway which we are really happy about

I think this coronavirus has just made us even more determined to get it paid off ASAP and refocused our efforts, not that we were changing our minds but it has displayed why living lean and in as little debt as possible is best in times of uncertianty.

Wishing all you MFW well and stay safe

Thanks 🙂 We basically just cut back on everything possible, Aldi shop,  got rid of sky, £5 phone rolling 1 month contract, always switch all utilities, mortgage etc. Etc.

4 years ago we had no savings as had a childcare bill of almost £1k a month, when that became less, we just put extra cash towards mortgage, both got better paying jobs.....just put our minds to it as our no. 1 goal

Good luck on your journey! It is exciting when first planning but is a hard slog, just keep your eyes on the end goal and take step by step
