Nope, sorry if that disappoints. I'm a software developer!
Going back a short while (ahem - clears throat), when I was at school, maths didn't really engage me. Right up until we became "proper" grown ups with our first mortgage, I just wanted the numbers, how much it was going to cost per month so that I could determine if we could afford the payments or not.
Don't know if it's an age thing or have more respect for money these days, but if you're not going to look after your own finances, no one will (without taking a cut in the process).
Can see light at the end of the tunnel and not having to pay a mortgage will free up a lot of cash...

OK. The September mortgage payment cleared on Sunday.
Actual mortgage was £25,654.10 Combined with mortgage savings of £1,275.00 that's an effective mortgage of £24,379.10.
This is the figure I'm using for the MFiT-T2 September chart. Haven't checked just yet, but I suspect that will put me in the red zone. Suspect that December and perhaps also March 2012 will also be red before making some headway in the second half of 2012.
Back to reality and stopping day dreaming - I've updated the graphs that are on post #1 and about to update signature and google docs charts to reflect above amount.

Hmm, attempting to update signature gives error:- Sorry as a new user you are not allowed to post with links. This is done to stop spammers clogging up the site. Please edit your message below to continue.
Anyone aware if anything has changed. Like my signature (with the links), so I'm inclined to leave for now and try again tomorrow.

Crumbs. Haven't wrote anything here in some time (6th) and certainly not this week.
Not a lot to report - kids now settled in at school - dinner money is now £10 each per week and little 'un who could not do after school activites when in reception has shown an interest in after school sports.
#1 has also just started going to a climbing wall at a local community centre after doing it during the summer and picking up a leaflet. Costs incurred for both, but happily we can still afford them.
As mentioned in the MFiT-T2 thread, having a bit of a sort out. Mainly at the creating more mess than sorting out stage, but hopefully will get the computer desk in order. It's quite a big 'L' shaped desk, but being big becomes a dumping ground for all sorts of stuff.
That's about it for now - just got in there before midnight with the "post at least once a week" item.

Hi,
Just wanted to echo what a few others have said here - you are an inspiration for all mfw's! I have just spent the last 3 days reading all 81 pages of your diary ( I'm off work but on ordered relaxation, not just a sad case!) and I'm amazed at how you've stayed so motivated and focused! Just wanted to wish you the very best of luck in achieving your goal!0 -
Firstly - thanks juicygirl for your comments. Had spotted your post earlier in the week, but have failed miserably to post anything at all here.
It's been a week of two things - spending and wanting to spend.
Our tax disc runs out this coming Friday and needed re-taxing for the next 12 months. Cost of a whopping £210 quid - mainly our fault due to having a 2.2 ltr diesel car, but on the plus side, we're just running the one car!
Posted in the MFiT-T2 thread that I was having a sort out / move around of computer desk and PC. When putting PC back together it's not been very happy with regards to the wireless network card and it keeps dropping the signal / altering the signal strength. Tried re-seating the card, but in the end purchased a new network card, which I'm waiting to be delivered. Currently getting 48Mbp to router and appears pretty stable at present although it can disconnect at the drop of a hat!
As for the wanting to spend, daugher and son are both wanting time on PC - just one family PC to share between the four of us. Have kind of talked myself into "needing"a further PC and have been in the last few days looking at laptops.
Have this afternoon been watching and putting a few bids in on laptops via Ebay just to find the form / pricing of second hand laptops, but have spotted a fairly good spec new laptop via the Dabs outlet shop on ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220860723850
Not in a desparate hurry for one - going to monitor the prices / deals in the run up to Christmas and there's even the January sales (if they materialise this year), plus I've not got a firm budget either, or settled on new or second hand.
That's about it for now - must put in an early evening sometime soon!

There's a good chance the mortgage interest could break under 1.50 per day come December - the summary spreadsheet I'm using to pull out these numbers isn't 100% accurate (it's doing forecasting which I'll not pulling out), but currently shows 1.52 per day for December.
Got the funds in place for the mortgage collection tomorrow.
May squeeze another post in later.
