What small DFW things will you do this week - w/c 16th October?

What small DFW things will you do this week - w/c 2 October
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

  • Many thanks for starting us off DNMS and I hope everything goes okay with the root canal.
Crashed out last night and had a lie in until 7.30am this morning, feel so much better.

I am a very happy bunny, Christmas shopping all completed. I have been waiting for my local m@rrisons to get some cocktail baubles sets in which were a hit last year. Wasn't having any luck in getting them and there they were today. I knew I had a voucher for 3000 points for my match and more card if I spent £30 so someone kindly got me a trolley and I did my cat food stock up aswell. The voucher has meant I've hit my next free £5 voucher and by buying 2 cocktail baubles sets, saved £2.
I was going to do the cat food stock up tomorrow but I didnt know how the weather is going to pan out and without the cocktail baubles I wouldn't have hit £30 and there is no way I'm going to buy for the sake of buying.
It is so so warm here and windy so washing out and it is drying very quickly.
Still have to do some cat cleaning and up date my spends book. Shouldn't need to but anything until the end of the week now, plenty in with my stocks.
Off to do some household bits and hopefully get more washing out.
Have a good day everyone x

  • Very quiet on here today. Thinking of you foxgloves

We’re out for 2nd day of using our annual passes. Bought rear of leftover picnic from yesterday bumped up with a couple more filled wraps made at home. Smalls are just queuing up with DH for something so thought I’d catch up on here. I’ve also:

Got something out of freezer for tea so we’re not tempted with anything else when we get home
Check banking, got £25 expenses coming back to me tomorrow that I’d forgotten about. Will go to LPDF :D
2 loads of washing out on line before we left, will finish on airer if needed later inside
Relax tonight watching something we’ve recorded on tv
Our bedroom is being plastered today so will need to pay him for that. Some furniture juggling required when we get home as currently our bed and the smalls beds are all in the same room
Plan what meals were having for rest of week
Check food for Christmas list. We don’t buy loads but I want to make a Dundee cake and I need a couple of ingredients that I don’t keep in stores so will look out for when they are on offer.

    Right back later. Purps.
  • Morning everybody, apologies for being awol later last week, I got really busy with work and family/animals!
So far this morning I have applied to transfer one of my pensions into another scheme so I will only have 2 pensions running instead of 3 ( one is a slightly higher risk scheme).
I have rung my mortgage provider to discuss setting a better rate as we are currently on SVR so that should save me quite a lot on my monthly payment.
I've also received another refund offer from a PDL, so fingers crossed that will be with me this week too.
More stuff to be listed on eBay and trying to have a NSD today as I have everything for dinner with a slow cooked beef recipe from the Jamie Oliver cook book :-)
  • OMG I had to have my tooth out! Cue a long and protracted dental session, about 10 lots of anaesthetic because I was still feeling pain and now I feel like I've been hit by a steam train!

You have my sympathy, DNMS, I've also proven pretty immune to the anaesthetic before too :(

Hope everything is going as well as can be expected for Foxgloves

I popped over to my mum's today via the supermarket to get her a few different slices of meats so she doesn't either end up eating the same thing all week or wasting lots of stuff. She repaid me by buying us fish and chips for lunch so all is good!

I remembered my mum buying Office when she got her Mac so I emailed myself the xl document I need to upload to Amazon to save in the required format there. It appears though that we never installed it (as her Mac came with a really simple word processing package that wasn't on my ancient one) so I have been able to bring it home to install on mine!

I still have washing to do and washing to put away. I've decided I need to change how I see my bedroom and start treating it more as my sanctuary than a dumping ground for clean washing.

I came back armed with boxes of biscuits and chocolates that my mum has been given as presents and doesn't like. She gives them to me for the fox but the fox can go whistle!

    I. Hate. Amazon.

    I really, really hate Amazon.

They make it so, SO difficult to contact them if you (as a seller) have a problem. In the end I rang the customer service number and asked to be transferred. They still have no idea where my stuff is as they are moving it from one Fulfillment centre to another and don't expect it to be on sale until 20th. A man from some far flung corner of the globe told me that as soon as they find it they can transfer it (again) to the correct Fulfilment centre for small and light if I enrol it now. Except it won't let me enrol it now (although I have successfully uploaded two others now I have the right programme), I suspect this might be because it says I have zero of them on account of them playing pass the parcel :grrrr:

I am so close to just closing my account and putting them on eBay instead.
