No That's what you chose to pay, a couple of years ago I worked on a flat in Cadogan square, to give you an idea the flat cost £4.3m had a 20 year lease so not mortgagable and was a pied a terre for a rich guy in Guernsey.
Despite having £20k worth of marble installed in the bathroom and the lady of the house not liking it as it was too dark so it was all ripped out and replaced, so they had money, they weren't paying those sorts of figures. The whole heating system was completely ripped out and re-installed for that price.

I very much doubt it. A radiator on its own is £800. £20k would get you nothing.

£800?! You've been hanging out in CP Hart too much.

Horses for courses and all that but an average radiator costs 10% of that.

    Nothing especially lavish about these

I'd be very surprised if a house in Cadogan Square had £80 radiators in it somehow...

Westernpromise seems to be on here to brag about their money. Rather tacky.

You're either deluded or spoiled. This thread isn't about Cadogan Square, but not everyone in thise environs likes to spend money for the sake of it and radiators are one of those things that people don't necessarily like to draw attention to. The last house I went into that had been renovated by someone other than us had a Magnet kitchen in it. There's no rules.

That Bisque towel rad is a towel rad. People don't put those in their lounges. They go in bathrooms where people make a bit more of a splash. A Bisque radiator is very much a lavish thing.

I had 11 internal doors supplied and fitted with new door furniture and guess how much they cost? That's right - five grand. Nothing spectacular, just oak veneer on solid wood, routered to look like tongue and groove.

Some friends liked them so much they asked where we got them, and had six similar doors fitted in their own house. Go on, have a guess how much they were charged for six doors.

They probably got them from Howdens. https://www.howdens.com/doors-joinery-collection/internal-doors/internal-hardwood-doors/dordogne-oak-door/

Those doors are very uncivilised for the period of London property. Could you not afford an interior designer?

I'm sure they didn't but I know for a fact not one of them cost £800.
Doors were all plain blank 2400mm fire doors £60 a piece.
Back windows came from Magnet and approved by conservation officer, French doors had to be made bespoke as they got a bit funny, but only cost £2.5k a pair.
As I said just because you may have chosen to spend that sort of money doesn't mean that is what you have to spend.
Your statement about the costs of building works being fixed just isn't true.
