I pay 120 a year to my bank (nationwide) form my account just for the breakdown cover, as it covers me all over Europe, any car, van, motorhome, or motorcycle owned or not, of any age, up to 7.5T and 8M long. Important for me with a 4T motorhome.

The account comes with a load of other insurance and 'perks' but I'm not bothered about the rest.
Damn it! I'm paying £420 per year for an old Citroen C4 that I only drive around town at weekends!! :o

Yep, been busy with a combination of work, dealing with a horrible divorce etc. etc. and now the fog is (slowly) clearing I'm just starting to get on top of a few things. Really annoyed at the way I've allowed myself to be ripped off to be honest. What's the average people are paying for breakdown cover? Thanks
I change between AA, Green Flag, RAC and ADAC pretty much every year unless I can haggle a big reduction off their renewal, I have everything on it: , at home, onward travel, etc etc except European cover and I never pay more than £120 for the year and usually cheaper.

There are much cheaper ways than mine - packaged bank accounts, cash back sites, etc. You currently pay 360 a year, I'd be expecting to drop that by two thirds with very little work.

Good luck. Easy to let stuff get on top of you when you're going through a hard time - but little stuff like this will help you feel a bit more in control, give you some easy wins and more £ in your pocket...

I've got that account too and have used the car and mobile phone insurance policies and can't fault them. The account also comes with a very decent regular saver option that beats most others.

I believe the monthly fee is going up to £13/month, but is still very good value.

Start rescue £35 a year including home start for a specified car but any driver on that car. Not had to call them out so can't comment on that part of the service but recently had to change the car on cover which took 30 seconds via their app with no additional charges. Just be aware of the mandatory 24 hour wait for cover if you do change the car on cover.

I will be going back to Start Rescue next week for £35.45 (less 15% from Topcashback) for the year when my current policy expires with Autoaid, their renewal is £41.94 for the year.

    OP please shop around.
