I'd give up if I were you - I recalled the name from a previous post and OP has history :rotfl:
50m+ vehicles use the crossing every year yet a special payment system should be set up for those who happen to be flying out that day and are running late with no access to a secure network in order to pay within the given timescale
Yes I realised that, moaning about insurance premiums on auto renewal was the last topic I saw.0 -
Ah one of those posts where the Op will only be happy with everyone agreeing it's a massive injustice and should be instantly refunded.
OP, the systems easy. Even if you were late for the flight, I'm sure at least one of you had access to a smartphone with data at the airport, or free airport WiFi in the time before you took off.
Its also near impossible to join the motorway without a sign warning you that you're on route to dart charge so if you don't want to pay get off at the next junction. I've crossed it many times, including a few where it was a last minute route revision and never had a problem. Try tweeting them, as has said before they are actually pretty sympathetic and have been known to reduce the fine to a crossing fee.0 -
@soolin
Thanks for the time taken to read my initial post, which was probably too long, and to ask pertinent questions:You say you have a screen shot of the payment, does that definitely show payment attached to the correct registration and did the money leave your bank account?
The receipt starts with:DartChargePayment Receipt
POBox842,Leeds LS19QF Visit:https://www.gov.uk/dart-charge
It shows up on the Dart Charge web site but isn't registered against a crossing.
The money left my account on the same date. The account entry states the following:
Gov.UK/Dart-Charge, Dart-Charge

Cardholder: ****
Forex amount: 2.50 Pound Sterling
Exchange rate: 1.000 -
Please can the trolls back off, I am actually getting some help here. If you read my post you will see that I have a reasonable claim. If you're not going to help don't post.
Regarding the previous Home Insurance post I was right and did receive significant compensation which I can prove. You nearly put me off from claiming what was rightfully mine. In other words you were undermining the very purpose of the MSE site just to feed your own distorted ego.
Remember this site is about stopping people from being ripped off and trying to help them out, not about responding to people in a vulnerable position with posts that amount to nothing more than stating "I wouldn't have done that because I know better and I think the OP is an idiot."0 -

Missing the point somewhat. i do apologise for the post being too long. The main point is actually what happens after payment so you're focusing on the wrong bit.50m+ vehicles use the crossing every year yet a special payment system should be set up for those who happen to be flying out that day and are running late with no access to a secure network in order to pay within the given timescale
The non toll booth approach has been a well documented fiasco and in itself generates the problem anyway but hey you go ahead an defend it.0 -
@DUTRYou should have definately posted a shorter event! As there is so much side tracking that it made it hard to read and remain interested, TBH I can't even remember if one of the kids were crying at the time, or if the iphone was fully charged. What I'm saying is pound for pound it's cheaper in real terms to pay up and shut up, factoring all the time to fight the system doesn't really win anything, around here it's £40 a year for green waste collection for 10 months twice a month, however even at NLW the 5 mile round trip and the time queuing on a bank holiday, it's cheaper to pay the £2 per collection, do you see where I'm coming from?
1. You aren't helping by just being a childish wind up merchant.
2. Your points and jokes are redundant anyway because you didn't even read my post like at least 4 people have manged to do.
Are you Harry Enfield fan by any chance. " I don't believe you wanted to do that"0 -

No on ever asked for that. Its your inane suggestion and a poor attempt at a straw man argument. Clearly with people travelling to airports it would be wise to extend the payment period to 2-3 weeks to make it possible for those intending to pay to pay regardless of their circumstances.
The non toll booth approach has been a well documented fiasco and in itself generates the problem anyway but hey you go ahead an defend it.
But it's YOU asking for special treatment as YOU couldn't meet the timelines for payment because YOU don't trust t'interweb.
If only we were all as perfect as you :rotfl:0 -
No I'm not asking for special treatment though am I? READ MY POST
The warning letter said pay by a date. I paid by that date.
Is the above statement too difficult to grasp? I'm not sure what your last post is referring to?;)
They haven't accepted that payment because it was too early their system is too basic to understand that.0 -
There's a certain irony hereIf only we were all as perfect as you0
