  • He didn’t refund us just passsd us to John Maher who is useless how did you do it
  • We are in the same situation
  • We have also been scammed by Commitments Protection. The rep(s) came to our house saying we were 99% guaranteed a £12,000 payout from one claim against our mortgage but if we paid another £474 we could get more. We just got a letter from fSfc today saying we have no claim and it’s been rejected. Because Commitments only contacted us to get more money we should have been more careful but because they had already got us some PPI back in the past we believed them. How can these people sleep at night.
  • Think we have fell for it too 🙈🙈, we paid £498 Sept 6th (last month) & we have today paid the final £498 (via credit card), is there anything we can do as we are past the 14 days cooling off period.

I"d employ another claims company to claim your money back from them.

    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

£1K with absolutely no return..
  • I had a meeting with a guy from the company today and after signing forms for a claim I don't have to pay for I was also offered checks into my old mortgage which like many others on this forum they said I'd easily get double figures as there were huge holes in the way I was sold the mortgage and they only take on people now that they can guarantee payment for..
He mentioned £900 payment upfront then when I asked him to confirm it later on he said £1195.
I was told by a friend that official companies would never need upfront payment and I've been scammed before so didn't pay the money or the direct debit they said I could set up..
I don't know if by signing, there is anything I have agreed to other than looking into my financial details but I gave no bank details so hoping I'm safe from any future issues..
I am worried still about further issues but hope by checking out here that I have saved myself too much of a problem...

This is from their own website but for anybody reading this, please don't fall for it. 99.9% of these go nowhere.I have only ever seen two of these so called "claims" from these type of companies. Both complete and utter nonsense and both with absolutely no basis in fact. Keep your money in your pocket!

    4.2 Mortgage Assessment and Claims

The initial Mortgage Assessment is free, and you can then decide which steps to take next if we wish to. The 4 choices are:
    1. Keep the Mortgage Assessment and do nothing.
    2. Keep the Mortgage Assessment and do it yourselves which will not cost anything
    3. Keep the Mortgage Assessment and instruct a 3rd party CMC
    4. Keep the Mortgage Assessment and instruct CPL to process, which take around 2 years to complete and may involve the need for an ATE policy and a consumer credit act loan for the solicitors to complete the claim, you may also have to attend court
The mortgage claim can be taken to FOS or the lender or the FSCS without involving solicitors.
The Solicitors may also charge a commission on the proceeds and there may be extra costs to pay.
We may need to pass your details to 3rd parties to complete the claim on your behalf.
There is NO guarantee of ANY claim being successful.
....and another telling quote, directly from them which seems to contradict their Salespeople
CERTAINLY, NOT ALL MORTGAGE REVIEWS BECOME MORTGAGE CLAIMS AS QUITE OFTEN NO LOSS CAN BE ESTABLISHED. IN OUR EXPERIENCE THE MAJORITY OF MORTGAGE REVIEWS DO NOT BECOME A CLAIM BUT ARE A REVIEW THAT SIMPLY LOOKS TO IDENTIFY IF THERE ARE ANY POTENTIAL ISSUES.
I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!
