and keep on and on and on and on at your local councillor and police for actions. Then when the council find out their missing a trick and a revenue they'll put a camera up.0 -
What is the correct way to handle this situation?
The correct thing to do, you already know, you're already doing it. Sit there and let them drive over the top of you!Do not enter a box junction unless your exit is clear or you are turning right.
OP has described this correctly and does know how a box junction works, and is obeying it. They are complaining that other drivers are ignoring it, and how to deal with this.
iammumtoone - do you have a google maps link of the junction? Are there 2 lanes on the other side of the junction AT ALL? If not, that puts a merge point IN a box junction, in the middle of a junction, which is terrible road design. You can drive slowly over a box junciton, just not stop. Without seeing the actual layout, I can only suggest moving over from the left/right lane into the middle whilst on the box junction - place your car so that people can see that there's only one lane, and they can't shove past. This will require a certain amount of observation and confidence of course, whilst also making sure you don't get stuck on the box.0
