If there is no camera then you probably have little option but to push in.
There is a similar box near me with two sets of light. Whilst the other set is on green they will fill up and block the box so unless I move forward into the box whilst my set are green I would be there forever.0 -

You do realise that the people at the other set of lights would be saying the exact same about you? You're as bad as they are. You're entering the box junction before your exit is clear - the same as them.
If everyone in this world stopped worrying about themselves and just thought for a second about how their actions affect others, everything would be so much better for all.0 -

It is a terrible junction sometimes when the lights go green for the incoming traffic they can't move as there are cars in the box junction blocking their path. I am not a fan of cameras but I think one is really needed in this case.
You enter when your exit is clear and get a dashcam to prove it if you do get a ticket. Or avoid the junction.
Take an advanced/refresher driving lesson and get the instructor to show you what to do at the junction.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Thats the point at this time of day the exit is never clear as cars overtake, cut into my lane and sit in the junction.
Thats an interesting point I wonder what a driving instructor would do/say - for a start they wouldn't take a lesson around that area at that time of day but if they did I suspect they would have no choice but to make the driver wait until the exit was clear as per what should happen. I can guarantee they would be waiting a very long time.0 -

Yes I entirely agree with you and if everyone followed the rule then the box would be clear when my lights go green and when the traffic the other side has moved forward a bit I would be able to cross the box without stopping. But that's not what happens, the other flow of traffic will block the box with 2 or 3 cars and they won't clear until my lights go red and the whole process state over again.

Give the council a call.
Im not sure of the dept that would deal 'Roads dept' etc but ask them how they designed the junction and how its possible to navigate in rush hour?
It may get them to rethink the two lanes into one?0 -

Or do what Newcastle Council did [with the Bus Lanes] and install a camera. :rotfl:0 -
Set one of your city councillors on it?
Pragmatically, can you estimate how likely you are to be caught by the light change and look ahead to see if the traffic is moving? If it has only just gone green will you move slowly through and be out before the lights change? If you think they are due to go red perhaps wait for the next green. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

How viable is it to just avoid the junction?0
