Brexit, the economy and house prices part 5

At this point I think you're deliberately missing the point, or just being obtuse.
You are sort of right, in a totally irrelevant way (is winning an argument on the internet so important?). If an overall Brexit deal isn't reached with the EU, then we're on WTO Terms (or potentially not leaving), and thus the border situation is already defined (WTO=border. Remaining=no border).
The rest removed as not needed.
Show us all where the WTO has any powers to insist that any country must institute a hard border please? You see, it's quite obvious who is missing the point or being obtuse and that would be you - unless of course you can provide a WTO link to my question.0 -
I doubt there is one, so asking me for it is just wasting time.
Do you honestly think that we'll be able to go borderless on WTO? That either side would agree to that?0 -
Oh dear, is not a good morning for you? Look at the date of your link with Davis on the Marr show. Sunday 25th March 2018. So (as I said) after the EU had rejected Karlsson's report that they, the EU, themselves funded.
:wall:
Finally we got there. Davis was on Marr in March yes.
And he dismissed the notion of border technology or cameras on the NI border.
Which is...surprise surprise... incompatible with the Karlsson model.
It's basic stuff really.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

He certainly dismissed border technology/cameras ON the border. He didn't dismiss it being used a few miles down the road or at the ports. If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

It's like Groundhog Day isn't it; all these posts for a remainer still not to accept what was said back in 8739 & 8740, which was that Karlsson's report had been dismissed by the EU before Davis said the above. Why can't Mayonnaise just accept that simple fact? It's not difficult to understand, is it? Instead I suspect that (*sigh* again) we will see another attempt to go around and around; well I'm out. They must have more free time to waste than me.
If anyone is still interested after all this (let's face it) pretty much pointless bickering, here is the full interview: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p062896w
Around 3:40 the border question arises and a more complete answer is given that the tidbit offered by Mayo; have a listen. Then around 8:00 the no-deal scenario is discussed.0 -
Brexit: Why Brussels seems relaxed about the end game"We know the Brexit drill by now.""The UK makes a fuss, tells us things are unacceptable - like the financial settlement (the so-called Brexit bill), and like allowing EU citizens the right to stay permanently in the UK, even if they only move there in the transition period after Brexit - but the British Government gives in, in the end. Even if they dress up the fact to make it more acceptable at home."Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0

Or if the solution isn't actually possible, we've been totally played by the EU (which isn't hard, our negotiators are incompetent).
When a solution is found, which, of course it will be, you will be posting that the EU was played by the UK I take it?Restless, somebody pour me a vino.0 -

Ah, the usual drivel about the UK always being the one to back down.
Mm, let's see, what have we here;
EU diplomats have removed a so-called "punishment clause" from a draft text of the arrangement for the Brexit transition period, the BBC understands.

Time and again Project Fear claims have been shown to be wrong, time and again Remainers refuse to acknowledge this. Cognitive dissonance is a very powerful antidote to facts.Restless, somebody pour me a vino.0
