Unless you have the current opinions of those people you don't know their opinions on Brexit.
Feel free to post current opinions from these if you have them and before you go there Hannan has been put in the picture by Davis as said earlier.
(Not suggesting unanimity BTW, just demonstrating the fallacy of that thinking.)
The referendum was in 2016. That's when people decided what they were voting for so I was saying Theo's point was a good one.
The EU are now turning the screws on us and will today insist that N Ireland has to stay inside a customs union. While a letter from Boris the clown has been leaked saying there should be a border, presumably like the one between Westminister and Camden!
Bottom line.....We are being told what Brexit will be like. It is not a negotiation but this was inevitable. Realpolitiks writ large. It would have been infinitely better not to have gone down this road.0 -
Those who are in admiration of the WTO might consider their new best friend has these matters uppermost in their mind this week.

Rough not the words tortuous negotiations.

WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS: Michel Barnier will pull the trigger on an almighty new Brexit row today with the publication of the EU!!!8217;s 120-page draft withdrawal treaty with Britain. The document puts into law the terms of Britain!!!8217;s EU departure after months of tortuous negotiation !!!8212; and separate to any future trade deal. Officials who have seen the draft say it contains key clauses the U.K. will struggle to accept. One creates a !!!8220;backstop!!!8221; option of keeping Northern Ireland aligned to Europe and inside the customs union if no other solution to the border dispute can be found. The other gives the European Court of Justice power to adjudicate any future dispute arising from the treaty !!!8212; effectively keeping Britain under the authority of European judges for many years to come.

More from Politico about the first draft of the withdrawal agreement.... Out today!A Downing Street source said: !!!8220;We are fully committed to implementing the December agreement, but the EU should be absolutely clear that the Prime Minister is not going to sign up to anything that threatens the constitutional integrity of the UK or its common market.
!!!8220;Nor are we going to accept the ECJ as the final arbiter of the withdrawal agreement. There are many issues on which we are in agreement with the EU but, when it comes to these matters, you can expect the Government!!!8217;s response to be robust.!!!8221;
They added: !!!8220;This is a draft negotiating position by the EU and not a final, binding text.!!!8221;0 -
Team UK's response to the EU will certainly be robust:
To UK Press "outrageous, we won't stand for it. Very difficult woman"
To EU: "YES SIR!"
I haven't seen mention of anything unreasonable in the draft spec, but May's red lines don't give her much room to do anything.0 -
More news which flies in the face of remainer cries of woe.

Perfectly reasonable - if you don't mind being subservient to the EU.If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

Toyota to build new Auris car at UK plant, in Brexit boost for PM May

Again, Tracey, did you read the article? It's not actually that spectacular:The automaker said free trade was important for the future.
“With around 85 percent of our UK vehicle production exported to European markets, continued free and frictionless trade between the UK and Europe will be vital for future success,” said Toyota Europe President and CEO Johan van Zyl in Wednesday’s statement.Sources told Reuters last year that Toyota planned to build the model in Britain on the assumption that ministers will secure a transitional Brexit deal designed to maintain current trading conditions until at least the end of 2020.Toyota’s Burnaston plant churned out 144,000 models last year, down 20 percent from 2016 according to industry data
So they are still relying on free trade and assuming the government will avoid a hard brexit as well as a long transition.
So you could better summarize the article as "despite Brexit, Toyota to replace Auris plant, on the assumption of a soft Brexit".
85% of vehicles being exported to the EU might show how much UK car manufacturing needs a good deal. Compare that with the (IIRC) 7% of BMWs being exported to the UK.0 -

The EU must be worried the UK government won't survive until March next year let alone until the next general election.“This is a draft negotiating position by the EU and not a final, binding text.”
In my opinion it's far more likely that the EU must be worried at seeing their hoped-for tens of billions of Euros slipping further from their gluttonous grasp.0
