Over the coming weeks PM and ministers will be making speeches outlining the road to Brexit.
Theresa May , Boris, Davis and Fox will make speeches. Remainers Hammond and Rudd won't. Is that a clue as to what direction we will be taking? :T
Good news that we will get some clarity. The Uncertainty is continuing the damage to Britain by a thousand cuts. It’s all the little things that we don’t hear about.
This is what Politico say about the same speeches.

Most of the papers carry the story that the government will set out its Brexit “vision” in a series of speeches by cabinet ministers over the coming weeks. First, Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson Wednesday, then Theresa May in Munich on Saturday. Brexit secretary David Davis, Trade Secretary Liam Fox and Cabinet Office minister David Lidington have all been given prime-time billing, chancellor Philip Hammond — notably — has not. “What the public want is the vision and some meat on the bones and that is what they are going to get,” Mordaunt told Marr. But will they get all the answers? “They will get some answers.” Hmm.

This is from the Guardian but it is a story of whistle Blowers from the Home Office who are unlikely to go to the Daily Mail.
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/feb/11/lottery-asylum-system-unjust-home-office-whistleblowers
The story is in principle about how understaffed the HO is.
As one poster has just said Brexit is coming together with all it entails.
I would think shortcomings in the HO should be of great concern.
The Home Office is the foundation of taking back control of Britains borders and they don!!!8217;t seem up to the job.
What can be done to sort this out? There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
What cause problems is people like Chukka ummana saying we accept the result of referendum when they clearly dont I voted remain and am not happy with the way things are progressing but I think its obvious that people who voted leave did not want 4 freedoms to continue and any solution that ignores that is not accepting the result.0

I see One of their ilk Henry Bolton...another old white male was doing the rounds today....trying to explain how we should trust his judgement and integrity:rotfl:. He came out with some codswallop about how it was the EU that wanted border controls in Ireland while the UK wanted an open border. When it was pointed out to him that many of the brexiteers voting that way to get proper border controls he failed to see the irony of his statement!0 -
Very smug of you to say so and well done but actually I chose to work in public services. I was just pointing out how this Govmt treats it's workers and predicting from that what our future is likely to be in the future with those right wing loons driving brexit. Some of us are not so shallow to measure worth by GDP either but I recognise that may be something you would find difficult to comprehend.;)
If your car went wrong you'd fix it or change it; if you couldn't fix it you would change it.
The same applies to most things in life but not for you, it seems.
Nope, you either don't want to change your situation or you can't.
Both are your own fault and not that of the government, Brexit or anything else.
Be brave and accept the consequences of your own actions.
Shifting focus wrongly from growth to GDP won't fly either.
Growth was the point, not GDP - but I suspect you knew that.
You tried to point-score and failed.

I was curious about the team given the responsibility of making the speeches. Clearly May is PM, so can see that. Davis, Johnson and Fox, not my idea of a dream team, but I get why them, as they have been in their Brexit related roles some time. I did however wonder about David Lidington (never heard of him), and wondered how he got to make a speech over his remain campaigning cabinet colleagues.
Is this a sign that we're veering towards a hard brexit? I have no idea, but by googling David Lidington, it turns out that he is responsible for "overseeing devolution consequences of EU exit".

Boris, Davis and Fox:eek:
This country is split down the middle and those names are hardly going to unify it. So whatever the speeches say ....get ready for years of strife. ......because that is our future. The idea of a resurgent UK looking beyond the EU is mainly the pipe dream of angry old white males.
Something like 80% of those who voted in the last election voted for parties who agreed to honour the result of the referendum. Soubry, Hammond and other remainers in the party stood on the manifesto which included a commitment to ending free movement and leaving the customs union and single market. IIRC, all of them voted for the Withdrawal Bill.
If they have changed their minds, the should be honest about it and resign their cabinet positions and if they don't resign, they should be sacked.0 -
Just as it was very smug of you to whinge about your pay over the past eight years but choosing not to do anything about it, you mean? Typical snowflake mentality TBH, moan about your supposed rights whilst blaming everybody around them yet refusing to accept responsibility themselves. If your car went wrong you'd fix it or change it; if you couldn't fix it you would change it.

How can we possibly leave the Customs Union and Single Market and have no border controls in Ireland. It's untenable!0 -

The Government has to plan for all eventualties. Even a Hard Brexit doesn't mean that nothing will ever change in the future. Just a point in time. Life goes on. Politicians will change.0
