It amazes me that some remainers try to imply that every improvement made in this country no matter how small is due to the EU.

No, just the ones that are. It amazes me that leavers are so stupid to think that none of it is due to the EU when there is so much evidence to the contrary. You can't override xenophobia I guess.

When facts get in the way of sentiment. How Malone ever imagines she is a credible advocate of Brexit is beyond me. Jacob RM must cringe when he sees this sort of performance.

Nobody thinks non of the improvements are due to EU but many that have been made even if they are supported by EU would have happened anyway. Its your arrogance that I find amazing.

I see that another prominent remainer has grudgingly admitted that the UK is doing better and will continue to do better than remainers suggested prior to the referendum. Although (of course) there are still the obligatory "but's". :D

That does not seem to be the opinion of the CBI

I am not saying that this is the case.

What is being argued here (by some Remainers) is that the British Government in those days was allowing this garbage to pollute our beaches, tried to claim (ie lie) that some beaches were not for swimming, and that it took the threat of EU rules to make them address the problem.

I agree that there are probably things that we have done without the EU advocating it and so been responsible for spreading good practice to the rest of the EU.

Who is the CBI lobbying on behalf of one wonders. Has had a pro EU stance for a very long time. Pre referendum in fact.

PS Was also against Scottish independence.

You misunderstand arrogance & cause and effect, I'm not surprised you find things amazing. That is magic thinking for you.

I assume you mean remainers, not leavers. But what you're saying is true. The British Government was allowing the beaches to be polluted for cost reasons. It was only the threat of the EU that made them stop.

As someone who grew up near the beach and saw fishermen selling their fishing rights, which is then blamed on the EU I see through lying leavers like Nigel Farage. Once you know everything they say is a lie, it's very hard to get behind something like brexit.

Also worth noting that the UK's performance has actually fallen behind her international peers.

Wasn't it ahead not so long ago?

The problem with this thread is some people on both sides are so biased they don’t seem to realise that things not black and white but a shade of grey.

No I’m not, see my previous post you fall into that category. By the way I voted remain but unlike you I’m not so arrogant that I can’t see both sides.
