Oh my goodness it is hot today. Feel like I'm melting!! DC1&2 are missing tennis lessons this afternoon, as it would be unbearable to do in 33 degree heat and no shade.

I've managed to pay £30 to CC3 today.

I've had to book my car in to the garage as it's had a warning message come up about the AWD. It's going to cost £99 for an hours check up, but might cost more. Really hoping they can fix it in the hour and that it's only something small/not too costly!

Just checked the hmrc website and DH is showing as no tax to pay at the end of the month and a £850 tax overpayment :D. I'm undecided with what to do with our refunds (about £1,050). At the moment I'm thinking of putting £1k in to the EF, although DH has suggested we get a new porch put on the front of the house which would cost £1k . There is definitely work that needs to be done to the house, but none of it is urgent, so I'd rather save for it.

DH has just popped out to b&q to buy a replacement slat for DC1s bed. Hoping he can fix it today and DC1 can sleep back in his bed tonight. Having DC1s mattress on the floor hasn't made it any easier for him to sleep at night. It definitely isn't any cooler :(.

Gosh it was hot last night. Temperature didn't get below 30 degree in the bedrooms, even after the thunderstorm & rain started. DC3 is suffering lots with heat rash today. Poor thing :(. Luckily it's a lot cooler today, so hopefully she'll get over it soon.

Out of all the items on eBay I managed to sell one dress for £9. Will most probably wait until the fees have come out from eBay and PayPal before I withdraw the money. Not sure how much they take, but anything I make on the sales is a bonus. Am going to put the other dresses on gumtree/fb and see if I have more luck there.

I've paid £20 to CC3 today. Still trying to work out what's best with the CCs going forward. Maybe I'll have to bite the bullet and list DHs business debt on here so that I can accurately show what's been paid. Hmmm will have a think. I just want the debts gone as soon as possible.

Thanks for this Abba. How many things do you usually put it a bundle? In the past Facebook sales have been frustrating - you try and sell something for £1 and they even try and knock that price down! I guess everyone wants a bargain. Reading your diary and Jwil's has definitely helped me choose to declutter and sell bits rather than just charity shop them in defeat!

Just transferred £30 to CC3 in readiness for payday tomorrow. When checking the bank account I can see that my child benefit payment is pending, which I wasn't expecting. I forgot it's paid every 4 weeks rather than monthly, so July we get 2 payments :D.

DH is working away again from late afternoon for 4 nights so I need to try and get as many jobs done as possible this morning whilst he's looking after the DC. Really need to pull my finger out and sort this house. I'm fed up with it being messy, which is mainly down to there being too much stuff! The DCs toys are one of the main culprits. I reckon if I removed half of their toys they wouldn't notice for months, possibly even never! Might try and move some bits to the garage or under stairs cupboard. If they ask for them in the next month they can keep them, if not I'll sell them.

Payday today, so I've transferred £325 to CC3 and £200 to the EF. There won't be any further debt payments this month, so I'll do my debt round up now.

    Total debt at 30/7/18
    CC1 - £0
    CC2 - £0
    CC3- £9,425
    CC4 - £11,830

    Total debt - £21,255.
    (Total debt at 29/6/18 - £22,055)

This month I've paid £800 off the debt, which I'm pleased about. It's not as much as I've managed in previous months, but is still a good chunk of debt gone.

EF is now at £1,845. Hopefully the tax refund (when it eventually gets paid) will get me to my £2,500 target.

Food shopping this month has been horrendous (£435 ). I've gone over budget and had to rearrange my budget to make it work. I know food is increasing in price, but really think my lack of meal planning and buying snacks has been the problem. I'm hoping that I can get the food shop in at £350 (hopefully lower) for 2 adults & 3 DC (although DC3 is only 20 months). Will also include nappies for DC3, pull ups for DC2, toiletries, etc. I currently pay for the Tesco delivery saver, but I think when it ends I might swap to shopping in Aldi/Lidl. Tesco home delivery is really convenient for me, as I don't have to drag the DC around the shop with me, but I think it might reduce my budget lots.

Good result on debt reduction and EF savings. Are both CC3 and CC4 on 0% and when do deals expire?
