  • atb we bought a telly for our bedroom earlier this year, first time we have had one. We don't use it a lot but it's nice sometimes to watch a film in bed on a weekend or have the news on on the mornings that I am not going out silly early.

DS fell in a flower bed on the way home and has trampled mud in the hall. He can deal with that when he gets out of the shower. He was just telling me that one of the girls he was out with last night got so drunk she couldn't stand up and the nightclub bouncers said she had to leave but the rest of the group could stay. Yes she had been stupid but there was no thought for her safety. The rest of them had to carry her home.

Anyway, doggie bedding washed. Meal plan roughly done. Need to get dressed and get moving.

Cheers LameWolf - here's to our mutual hydration :D
Thank you for posting that; it has prompted me to get a glass of water and put on the table in front of me to sip at (I'd totally forgotten). :A
Our tap water tastes vile, but we use a Br!ta filter jug which makes it palatable - I have had some strange looks from dog owners when I fill the dog water bowls from the jug, though. :D Well, if I won't drink it straight out of the tap because it tastes horrid, I don't see why the dogs should have to. :o
My boys are good kids but this is what happens here. DS goes to put something in the kitchen bin and says "yuk something in there stinks". So I say cheerily "hey, how about emptying it then and chucking some bleach in it and giving it a swill out". By the time I had finished saying that he was halfway back upstairs. He did come back and do it but you would think he had just climbed Mount Everest by the fuss he made.
What you need there is cloth ears. ;) Let him make a fuss, as long as the task is done.
    I need to be tougher.
Hmm - you could always threaten to get your friend the Wolf to come and bite their backsides..... (I jest of course - but sometimes you have to laugh or you'd cry). ;)

Just praise them like toddlers it still works when they get big.. we all like to be appreciated :D
I second this. It still works when they get to be 67. :D

All my washing dried yesterday :T so that's all been folded and is in the airing cupboard (will be put away later today). I've done another load today, of my stuff this time - I was running out of bras so had to do it. :D I don't like the look of the sky today though, so that lot is on A-frames over the bath.

The other thing today (which will mean putting the A-frames in the spare room for a while) is that I want to steam-clean the bathroom, while we have no doggies to poke their little noses in.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Himself decided to crash on a bandmate's sofa in the end, so he's only just started making his way home.

I came down to a clean kitchen, could find a clean mug easily, and have clean clothes ready for work tomorrow.

All I have to do now is endure a walk into town to meet him for suit jacket purchasing and get some food for later. Which he will be cooking. And cleaning up after. Oh, and I desperately need to get the caterpillars on my face shredded to look more like eyebrows again.

Might chuck some cleaning spray over the upstairs bathroom, but I didn't sleep properly for more than a couple of hours and haven't found anything I could tolerate for food in the house so far today, so I really CBAd to function like normal people do at the weekend. It's such a waste to be at work all week, then spend a day off cleaning and then do boring things on what appears to be a beautiful, sunny, Autumn day, especially when he's here almost all week - and as far as I'm concerned, should have done it all then instead.

I fully intend to have an early night tonight.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Tescrow shop done and put away, OH away to work ~ he is on until close again tonight so I have dinner, baths and bed to do.. it will be done so much quicker by myself!

Blob of gobble in the oven because Pixie wants 'something meat' with waffles and carrots.. not too awful a choice for a 4 year old!

WM is going on first thing in the morning with OH's whites in it which he will need tomorrow evening.. so I need to sort that asap.

Cheque to bank tomorrow and 2 ebay things to post.. £80 total so looking forward to that :) It is probably just going on a bill but it's better than a poke in the eye and a fairly big pile of stuff out of the house.

Rejigged and sorted the stuff DD2 left so it now takes up 1/4 of the space and is much neater. 1 box of stuff from the car LAST summer now sorted and out of the front room, 4 binbags for the refugee collection charity.. coats and blankets and shoes to go to Calais.. including a coat OH got when he was 14... 22 years ago.. which he hasn't worn in at least the last 12 years.. we don't need to keep it do we?

1 chair readied to go live at my mothers.. one of her dogs ate her arm chair so she is having the one we were going to put in the girls room once it is emptied of rubbish.. which at this rate might never happen.

    Pixie swept the kitchen!

Older 3 bribed with a Walkers 6 pack to tidy upstairs.

Thanks for the reminder to stay hydrated, I had let this slip.

DD1 & boyfriend came for dinner last night and stayed as I took them to Ikea after we dropped OH at airport, many euros decluttered! Back home alone now but nice to have a tidy living room to sit in.

    DW on
New bedding bought today in WM
    HHI
Reading light brought in to living room given a thorough clean and now ready for use.
Bathroom now tidy so will get cleaned this week and it will stay tidy just like the bedroom and living room. Kitchen next week, it is not as bad as it has been but still plenty to do.

Had lunch out so probably nothing tonight or just a bowl of cereal.
Gorgeous day here, warm & sunny so enjoyed cuppa outside.

Off to empty DW and get another drink.
  • Have been cooking all afternoon, actually quite enjoyable. Some bits done for the freezer and a casserole made for tomorrow. Just waiting to see who is cleaning up after the homemade pizza that I made and they have all just eaten.

Came upstairs to read my book now but I am feeling sleepy. Must stay awake!
