    Evening all

Sending some big squishy hugs LW and cold-gone vibes. Whinge as much as you need - you know you'll have all our support.

Difficult dilemma YL. Would it be possible to have a family pow-wow and explain it to all that it's something you'd really like to do, it will eventually benefit everyone but they will all have to help ?

Maybe some things will not be done quite to your standard - but hey, surely families are all about helping each other attain their potential. Don't know if that helps.

    Dailies done
All washing done, including all the towels and cloths. Dry stuff folded and put away and a little left to dry on the airer overnight.
Kitchen all WUDUPA, bunkers, micros and hob wiped down.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend

YL a few years ago I went on strike as I go no help what so ever around the house, I was as I am now donig 2 jobs etc. The strike lasted for about 10 days before 'others' relised what I actually did for them, during the strike I did look after myself and the cat and that was all.
I suggest a family talk, and age dependant jobs are issued accordingly, ie bins , rubbish, recycling, bringing washing to machine, making beds, cleaning bathrooms etc, explain to them that if they want nice things and extra things, days out etc etc that you have to earn money for these and have the chance of a promotion, but you need help in order to achieve that days out etc

My friend when she got no help did all this but it didn't work, so she had another family talk, and based it around 'you want the internet time, you do jobs' it worked........... :)

    Hello

I've been lurking while I managed my phased return to work and, having just finished my second week back at full-time, I now need/ want to pick up the next juggling ball: which is keeping the house reasonably clean and tidy alongside working full time.

If I start now, I'm hoping that I'll then gather up and juggle the 'Christmas preparation' ball without dropping the other two. Well, I can dream :o

I think the key to success is losing my excess weight (lots of it). So, a lifestyle change is in order, and much needed. I know this in theory - but in practice . At the moment life is: work, eat lots of carp, watch lots of telly, sleep badly. A lot of the problems at work have now been addressed and I can see the line of eat healthily, drink more water, do more around the house, get outside for a walk and fresh air = feel better about yourself/ sleep better; but I'm not sure where to start. There isn't a single thread to grab hold of; it all gets knotted together. If I take it one day at a time do you think it's possible to just grab the lot, put the changes in place and go for it - or would that be the road to an epic fail?

Oh, wise and wonderful flyladies, I appeal to you as an oracle of trusted advisors. Where is forwards?

A while back we had a discussion about habit-forming Round Tuit - and while I can't remember the detail I *think* the focus was on one thing at a time so I would suggest picking one area and focussing on that; might be the daily walk, the eating healthily (meal plan?) etc - but just one - and focus on it for the 2/3 weeks (that's the bit |I can't remember - how long it takes to become a habit) and do that. Then add in a new good habit...

I think the gist of it is if you try to do everything in one fell swoop and fail you'll feel a total failure - if you fail on one thing -well it's just one and tomorrow is another day.

Thanks Lynne and JoJo. Trouble is if I chatted to them all they would say oh yes of course we will help. But saying they would help and actually doing it is different. I think I have to do this and make it work though or I am always going to regret it.

Had to pick DS up at 2am. He is feeling a bit down. Need to keep an eye on him as I dont want his mental health problems creeping back.

Pottering here. Bit of laundry, bit of cleaning, bit of paperwork sorting.

Thank you Valli xx I think that's what I think too - if that makes sense :o. I'm attracted to the 'whole new me' tomorrow idea (who isn't?) but in the real world it would be a HUGE undertaking with herculean self-discipline required. Reading back my own post I actually gave myself a starting point D'oh! If the key to success is to lose weight, then it makes sense to me that that's where to start. I know SW old-style green days work for me - I've lost 4 stones three times on that :o. So I know that's do-able, and if I introduce other life changes as I go along, it'll come together with a bit of effort and reasonable self- discipline.Sometimes just writing things down takes the jumble out of my head

In the meantime I was down to my last clean pair of knickers this morning  and I notice DS has worn welly socks to work (he has an office job!) so I prioritised underwear as my first load in WM this morning. That load is now wafting merrily on the line (please don't rain, please don't rain) and the next load, white shirts and tops for work next week, is swishing.

At work I manage my own workload - prioritising stuff as it comes in and writing notes to myself - I think that might help at home too. It'll be fire-fighting to start with, but some days that's how work is, and I just concentrate on one thing at a time and it gets done. Solutions are in my head, but it's accessing them that's the trick. I say my head's a shed, but it's actually more of a double garage with a lean-to attached.. you know stuff is in there, but finding it????

I have empty note books galore (:o) time to put them to good use methinks. A bit of planning is needed chez tuit. And it's a marathon, not a sprint.

But first some (prioritised) pots must be washed or it'll have to be toast on kitchen roll for lunch - and I think the bread is well past it's best before date.

    Breathe one two

Wow roundtuit! It sounds like you've got it planned. And it is one thing at a time so that you don't set yourself up to fail and then spiral downwards. Good luck! Oh and notebooks?? I could give anyone a run for their money on the number that I have hoarded! But I love a good list.

YL - if you really want to do this for yourself as much as the rest of the family, then you need to go for it. I also went on strike once, but did the bits that mattered to me. The trouble was that they are more strong willed than I am, so I capitulated first. Eventually I guess we found a middle way. I'm sure that you are stronger!

Yesterday as ever was a write off, although DD and I did have a good movie night in. Today I will soon start the Saturday taxi service, even more complicated by DD going to the local fair later and us [STRIKE]having[/STRIKE] wanting to stay nearby while she is there, so we're having to spend a few hours out. I'm making good use of one of my trips out and about to drop a load of towels off to the doggy charity. Also at long last I have dragged out the rusting maiden from its wedged in space in the utility room and it is off to the tip! Hurrah!

I'm jealous - that sounds really interesting.
It was amazing. All in Japanese (they did have subtitles on screens at the side) I know Macbeth well enough that I just needed the odd glance at the subs to check where we were in the play.
The set was beautiful, falling cherry blossoms, ornate kimonos. The plot of Macbeth really suited the Feudal Japan setting.
Ninagawa Macbeth is the company, if you fancied a google.

I found what works/worked for me was finding an excerise I loved. If I go out for a 5 mile run, I don't want to spoil my hard work and efforts by eating rubbish.

No time for flying today, off to Honiton to stay with BF's sister ready for the Great West Run tomorrow. Last year it took me 3 hrs exactly, my worst time ever for a half marathon. This year I'm feeling alot fitter and happier, so hoping for better.
It's Duncans first birthday today, so he got a doggy birthday cake, which oddly said on the back 'not for puppies under 3 months'. It's a birthday cake!

    Have a great weekend all.

Last lots of ironing has been done, and is on the maiden and will shortly be in front of a sunny window. I also have two and a half loads on the line.

Full time work (but two different jobs) starts next week:rotfl: so I need to keep on top of the laundry then I have enough to wear especially as I won't have any heating or hot water until 10th November. Mum is coming to house sit while it's fitted...

I have had a go at a bit of the floor grout on the kitchen floor with the steam cleaner to see how effective it is.

I have assessments to mark, books to mark and order to restore.

I also want to get the car cleaned. Might start with that, while it's fine.
