Except that mine isn't my "main" account. But you are right, it's not complicated.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.0

Has anyone else done this switch - I have and as soon as I can Im getting straight out of it - the app and online systems are totally rubbish. I have arranged an online monthly transfer of 1k. then tried to transfer 1k monthly to another bank account. No chance. Maximum 500. this bank is a joke0

Do 2 £500 transfers on separate days ? Hardly worth ranting about really.0 -

You need a token but unlike M&S, Yorkshire don't send you one automatically you have to apply for one to be sent. Hardly ideal, but as said above you can use the two days of £500 workaround in the meantime.0 -

I can perfectly understand people's frustrations here. The £500 limit I can deal with and, to be fair, it's a good thing that a mobile based app has that kind of limit in place. I don't like the idea of banking applications at all on my phone. But First Direct and B have sort of forced me in to it. So the more safeguards, the better, in my opinion.
However, for a bank that calls itself a 'Smart Digital Bank' it leaves a lot to be desired. The app is very basic, but functional at least.
The browser based application is better but I've managed to log in once or twice in over 10 attempts. Seems my favourite place or person does not work at all.
A bank marking their software as 'beta' is ridiculous imo. Allowing any member of the public to use beta software, when it comes to banking, is also nonsensical. A bank should be thoroughly testing their code, before allowing its general use.0 -
My switch is going through on Thursday. On Friday evening I went through the list of payees ('Beneficiaries') on the account I'm closing and deleted a couple of them - tradesmen I've paid using BACS in the past but don't expect to use again. Yesterday I received a letter from YBS listing the direct debits and beneficiaries that will be transferred with the switch, including those I've just deleted. Should I reinstate them on the account that will be closed?0

Cheeky B's at Clydesdale locked me out and blocked the 2nd transfer of two £500 transfers out in two consecutive days! Got some bull or other on the phone about it was precautionary because it was a new account ..... blah, blah!
"I'll just put you through to the Fraud Team". Fraud Team? Jeez, I bet they are going to be busy with our forum members in the next few weeks! Sorted now.
I said I hoped this wouldn't happen again if I did a similar series of transactions in the near future ..... muttering under my breath "like in 31 days!"0 -
Re a transfer out limit of £500 without a token I assume that's for the conventional style accounts not B.
Because we transferred £1000 out of Mrs Zanderman's brand new B account yesterday with no trouble at all. Using the B App.0 -

You were a bit late on deleting them from the old a/c as the info had already gone to YBS. DDs & beneficiaries seem to get sent through in the first couple of days or so of the switch starting. No need to reinstate them on the old a/c but you'll need to delete them from your new YBS a/c if you don't want them showing there.0 -

Yes it was a new "Clydesdale" account ... not a variant! No token applied for.
No big deal ... one free phone call, sorted in 5 minutes ...... although I am watching the receiving account to see when the money actually arrives, now that the transaction has been unblocked.0
