Looked at houses yesterday but failed to find one. No more looking now until I'm packed up and out of the current one.
Yesterday afternoon and today have been spent tidying/clearing out at my mum's to make space for me to move stuff in. We've had fun sorting through photos (and binning masses of duplicates) and she's rediscovered lots of things she thought she'd lost, like photos from when she was a child, letters from her grandmother, photos from her travels etc. She has a lot of photos to put into albums and frames, but I keep pointing out that if she doesn't sort through them and put them in albums with some information, then we won't know who they are of/why the view matters and we'll end up binning it all anyway. Some stuff apparently has to be kept so that when she loses her memory we can ask her questions about it.
There's a lifetime supply of stationery. My lifetime, not hers. But it's all now accessible so at least she won't buy more because she's unaware of it.
We've also sorted some of my dad's books, and I have about £10-worth to take home with me to send in my next batch to we buy books. There is a large pile for the CS as well - hopefully Sue Ryder will take them as there isn't an Oxfam anywhere particularly near to my mum.
Back home tomorrow, where I'll be attempting to clear up the mess I left behind and get packing for van 3.5 -

Starting to make progress - some online address changes done (some need to wait a few weeks), BT informed of my cancellation date (bet they get it wrong), electricity provider given move date, mortgage provider called to confirm I have 180 days to find a new properly and complete after the sale, removal firm called to discuss collection/storage.
Boxes have been made up and a reasonable number packed - most of my office is now done thanks to a friend who stayed on Saturday night and nagged me. On Sunday I tidied and cleaned out the garage, so its now ready for me to put the next van load of stuff into.
We've worked out what furniture needs to go back to my mum's, so I need to rearrange a few things to get that ready to go. Given that I need to pack most of the rest of my clothes etc it won't be a huge issue.
There does seem to be an awful lot to do still, and somehow I need to fit in work and buying a new car.6 -
Good luck with all this, greenbee, I've decluttered a lot since my last move, but I dread the idea. You're doing really well with squirrelling away a bit at your mum's. And the paperwork already. All the best.2023: the year I get to buy a car1

New car reserved - just need to pay the balance and then I can pick it up on Monday (and leave the old car with them).
Removal survey done, quote received and packing/collection/storage booked. Packing to do over the weekend for the next load to go to my mum's on Wednesday (along with mucking out my car).6 -
Car has been bought and used. Another van load of stuff was sent off to my mum’s, where I am currently staying for a couple of days and unpacking it. I’ve taken over my mum’s studio as an office, and am getting that set up as well as organising my clothes (they need a cull, but it’s hard when work and home life are about to change dramatically. So far most stuff has been shoehorned in without being too disruptive but that may not last.
I’ve also checked my electric account and my £200 alternative fuel payment was made on 14th Feb but no one mentioned it (it was about when my account transferred from Bulb to Octopus, so I’ll let them off!). It’ll help offset the additional oil and drainage costs caused by my buyers delaying.Looked at another house yesterday (not officially on the market, no pictures or floor plans) but it wasn’t what I’m looking for. Hopefully there will be a bit more about after I’ve completed and moved.6
