I may have ordered 130 bulbs last night, which are now on their way and will need planting at the weekend...

On that basis, presumably I might as well order more :)

Slow morning, but did get some washing up done and a BNS in the IP before meeting a friend for what turned out to be a slow dog walk (because we met LOTS of neighbours with dogs). Dog should be tired once he winds down.

Sun is shining, so I might shove some dog and cat bedding in the WM and either stick it on the line after my meeting or shove it in the TD if it's still sunny.

And I need to try to track down the plumber. Also set off the robot hoover in the sitting room so I can move it up to deal with the new carpet later.

Dog bedding was washed and dried yesterday. Dog towels still need doing but it's raining this morning.

Kongs and lick mats have been refilled, and the leftover BNS frozen. Pots are all ready for tomorrow's delivery of muntjac.

Messages and calls to the plumber are still unanswered. Builders will do the bath waste/overflow if I haven't heard back this week so we can at least get the bathroom back together.

Robot has done a first pass of the bedroom and sicked up some fluff on the floor as it's bin was full. I've emptied it, and it's now recharging. I'm not going to put anything else back in there for now as I want to keep the floor as clear as possible, and will also get the cleaner to wipe everything down, mop the bathroom floor, hoover etc tomorrow. Although that's no reason not to get the last two pictures up!

Have just disposed of a squirrel that one of the cats (mostly likely Fatty as she's certainly trying to take the credit and has been/is very restless today) kindly deposited (dead) in the utility room. Better than birds, but I really wish they wouldn't bring them in. I'm also starting to think that @redofromstart's suggestion that they'll be trying to drag muntjac through the cat flap soon isn't actually that unrealistic!

I just thought I'd mention this on here as I believe you are with Octopus.
My gas bill on 22/10 was alright.  Last months electricy bill was alright with the standing charge at 31 days @ 45.09 being £13.98.
So how come the standing charge on this months bill is 30 days @ 45.09 manages to be £14.09 instead of £13.53.  I suggest you check your bills

Oh my I didn’t realise cats could kill squirrels! I caught my young cat stalking one but chased them both off. A friends cat once  brought a moorhen through the cat flap, fortunately still alive and returned to the stream where it came from.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪

They're not usually that stupid - squirrels can be vicious! But one of them is obsessed by them - she chased one up a tree when she was a kitten! I think I would prefer a dead moorhen to a live one frankly, given the mess created by finishing off birds and mice. This one has caught a couple of pigeons too. Doesn't eat them, trades for treats. The other one doesn't bring hers back for me now as she doesn't like me stealing them... but I did catch her chucking a dead mouse in the water the other morning (they found a nest, so it was carnage outside the kitchen door...).

Got hold of the plumber -  he's moving today, to the end of my road, so won't be able to escape (must go and drop off a bottle of wine or something later). And the window cleaner FINALLY turned up and is clearing out the gutters as well as doing the windows.

Decorator missed a couple of bits in the wardrobe which I spotted (not easy, paint colour is close to that of the MDF), so will come back next week. He was very apologetic - I've said I'll stick to brighter/darker colours in future :)

Bulbs, clematis, and broad bean seeds have arrived, and garlic/onions/shallots are on their way.

Cleaner is giving the bedroom/ensuite/wardrobe a thorough clean before I move anything back in there.

Dog has had a lovely sunny walk with friends (new walk so VERY exciting for him), followed by a visit from my mum (dropping off two muntjac for him), and now the cleaner is here... he doesn't understand why she's cleaning and not walking him!

I need to get on and get some work done as I have a couple of long meetings today and a podcast to record.

I'm still SO tired in the evenings, but have to stay up to let the dog out for a last emptying. Cats are going to be around 7.30 at the moment, and not in a huge rush to get up (but the dog needs early morning emptying too!). Still coughing at night which probably doesn't help.

I remembered to check electricity prices yesterday - later than usual, so discharged the battery and went out in the dark to get the dog towels in and shove them in the dryer on delay. Also filled the DW and put that on delay. Battery and hot water were set to charge from grid for most of the night, and I put the electric heating on for a couple of hours. Boiler hasn't come on this morning as a result. It looks like there will be negative pricing overnight, so the hot water diverter is on stop to maximise export. If it is negative tonight I'll wash a dog bed this evening to stick in the dryer, strip my bed to do a hot wash, have a bath so the hot water can heat up, possibly run the DW on a cleaning cycle, and put the electric heating on. Possibly something in the SC too. Pricing may be low enough to use electric heating for part of the day too rather than oil.

I want to get some gardening done at the weekend, but have quite a bit of stuff that needs doing generally - including cutting up and freezing two muntjac that were delivered yesterday and doing some cooking.

This morning I've managed to empty the ash can into the ash bin by the compost bins, fill the sitting room log basket and half fill the hall one (when I've filled this and the porch storage I may finally have all the bought-in wood out of the log store so can start shifting the home-grown stuff down there - but may need to get the log splitter working again for this). DW has been emptied, clean dog towels put away, pet food bowls washed up and put away, cat beds tidied.

Handyman is here putting the blinds back up in the bedroom and will then do some weeding and mowing (assuming the rain stays away). Neighbour has asked for some of my bubblewrap and box stash which is good news - more stuff leaving the house!

Dog needs walking and I should probably go food shopping at some point. Plus deal with the small work backlog that is building up!
