That's so interesting GB! I love that you specified 'gradually' for the changes that you made - building new habits can be so daunting otherwise.
...and your comments about the whining made me chuckle 😁
...are the AI recommendations programmed for allergies? Only asking as I have a legume allergy & most pulses are out of bounds!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! No - nothing programmed for allergies. They're very clear that it's not intended to deal with any medical conditions. Having said that, I don't bother with the recipe suggestions. I did the lessons and then worked out what I liked and the scoring system helped me work out the combinations/timings etc that work best for me. I got some ideas for recipes from the FB groups, and try to include all my gut boosters regularly and avoid my gut suppressors.
If take it too fast your gut will let you know...2 -
First day back logging for Zoe was a success with a day score of 87 and no feelings of deprivation. Today has started well with black coffee and a giant pot of fennel tea now I've taken the (snoring) puppy for a walk.
Electricians have confirmed they'll be here tomorrow, so I have a fair amount to get done inside today as well as finishing up filling the second garden waste bin from the pile in the garden. I did half after our walk, and we'll need to go out a few times so that shouldn't be a problem. I should probably also fill the log basket and get more kindling in too. I'm hoping electricity prices won't be too bad tonight, as while I'm up to date on the washing (and won't do more until the electricians have gone unless I absolutely have to), the DW will need setting off.
It's lovely and sunny outside, but bitterly cold, so best enjoyed from inside as far as I'm concerned!4 -
Garden waste bin is done. Logs/kindling are not. Two bedrooms are cleared, and I've made a start on the airing cupboard and hall... which means there's a huge pile of coats in my bedroom that needs dealing with. Still quite a bit to do before 8.30am but hopefully I'll get there.3

Managed to get pretty much everything put away in time, and I'd forgotten that these guys are nice, polite, quiet and get on with things (mind you, last time they were mostly in the garage doing the solar). They're getting on with the easy bits today and we'll work out the hard stuff (internet cabling) once that's done.
Today's walk took us to the post box, so my thank you letters from Christmas and my birthday are finally posted.

oh... and I spoke to an architect friend today who designs heating systems for her projects - apparently if you put the radiator on an internal wall the room is often colder as you don't get the airflow. So even in the days of double glazing, she's still putting them under windows. What she does if people want long curtains is use old-fashioned floor-standing cast iron radiators, so curtains can go behind them. So I'll leave mine where they are as I have short curtains or blinds upstairs.
What I really need to do is fix the kitchen heating. But I think that might involve digging up the floor to lay more polypipe wet UFH.
When I was looking for a torch this morning (taking Stinky out in the dark), I picked up the blacklight by mistake. I was slightly alarmed by what I could see until I read that olive oil and some adhesives also fluoresce under UV. The kitchen units and one of the walls need a good clean...5 -
Electricians are making good progress. Quietly and tidily. Admittedly we haven't got to the messy bit as they've sensibly been dealing with the easier stuff first.
Drains being done on Thursday. I'd forgotten that trees are also being done then... I'm sure we'll manage somehow, as long as the drain work does trap people in the drive.
Work day is shifted to US hours tomorrow and Wednesday so I'll be tired as I can't start late due to the electricians. But I'm going to try to go out tomorrow morning to check for towels in the CS and maybe do some food shopping (but only if I can identify what I need to buy as otherwise I need to eat what's in the house).
Fence paid for, and discussion had about how we repair the main fence and build a hard standing for the IBCs.5 -
The charity shop I was in this morning had a box labelled dog towels 50p each, I hope your search is as successful 🤞Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

It was too cold to go into town! I went to the supermarket instead. Towels (for puppy!) will have to wait for another day. If not, I'll commission @Baileys_Babe to source them for me...
Long day - leadership team is all on site apart from me, and they're not good at running hybrid meetings. Or rather, no one is responsible for running the meeting and making sure I can hear/see/things stay on topic/on time/we stick to the agenda.3
