Thanks @Baileys_Babe - there's a lot there, I'll get Mr MV on the case. We're looking for large panels with excellent BTU ratings so that we can switch to a heatpump. The problem with so many of the vertical radiators is that they put out a lot less heat than a standard one - so while they look nice, they don't really do what they need to be doing. The room we're looking for this in has a wall of glass and only a very small patch for a rad, hence a standard but very tall one would be perfect.

If you have room for any depth to the rad.  Mine is 6ft tall but only 30cm across but it is in a fan shape & about 5inches deep.  It is the only one that I don't have set at 5.

Thanks @badmemory, but it’s right by our back door (which acts as the front door), so minimal thickness is required, adding to the complexity. A closer look at the Wolseley website suggests we might have our answer. (Sorry for the hijack Greenbee!)

No problem about the hijack TMV :) It's interesting as I'm also replacing radiators with larger ones so they're heatpump ready! Friends with GSHP have a combination of wet UFH and old-fashioned cast iron type rads downstairs (and I remember in my parents' old house those had 2 inch pipe work, so clearly were designed to run at low flow temps) and huge flat panel rads upstairs (both horizontal and vertical). I might ask them for advice on the one vertical rad I need.

I've also realised that the two small rads coming out of the bedrooms can be saved to replace the office and studio rads, although they'll need to be painted first.

Hello @greenbee. Hope you are doing well. I imagine you are probably in a new job and a new  house since I last saw you 🙂

Lovely to see you - new house, kind of new job (same company, same boss, fourth different job and it changes constantly), new cats, new puppy (currently bored and particularly fed up as it's the weekend so we should be doing fun things instead of him watching me lying on the sofa drinking tea and reading).

Oh wow! What kind of puppy and I'm guessing you are no longer having to work in the US?

Puppy is a black lab. And very bored at the moment. Only 5.5 months, so still at the frustrating stage in terms of sometimes appearing to be a genius and at other times clearly being an idiot. But at least the cold means he's not faffing about when we go outside for loo breaks...

Technically I do have to work in the US... but I've managed to make it over a year now without travelling. Next planned travel is March.

I wanted a small yellow/red !!!!!! and have black dog who is probably going to be quite big... but mostly he's lovely. Currently slurping away at his post-lunch kong.

We've been going out for a few minutes at a time, and I've been using the time to fill the garden waste bins while Stinky rushes around like an idiot. He won't go out without me - he just sits by the door. Hopefully he'll get over that soon, but it's not a bad thing right now.

I've signed up for the Zoe programme again (as a graduate) as they reduced the subscription for people who have already done their testing. My long covid symptoms have been gradually coming back over the course of the last year, so after a discussion with my GP (and billions of tests) we agreed that getting my diet back under control is probably the best place to start. I'd gradually got more lax with following the Zoe principles since moving due to chaos/exhaustion. I've still been eating fermented foods and pulses - but not as regularly as I should, and there were too many processed foods and refined carbs working their way back in. The first couple of days after signing up still weren't good, but I've had a couple of good days now, so have started logging today and next week will be my first complete week for analysis. The first couple of weeks will be the hardest.
