Roughly what is the distance from the wall with the light on to where you took the photo?greenbee said:

Hospital email is sent, so just message to neighbours to compose ... and some cards to write and one present to post (well, maybe more, if I get round to them).
Fire is lit. Dog is dozing on his bed, one cat is dozing at my feet on the sofa (while keeping a beady eye on the dog). Other cat must be upstairs - if she was downstairs we'd hear her snoring and talking in her sleep!
Oh - I also sorted out tiebacks for the utility and kitchen door curtains. The door into the garage had plasterboard next to it, so that was easy. And when looking for something else I found some stick-on tie-back hooks, so have used those. All this is temporary, but it makes a difference.4 -
Cleaner comes today, so some tidying is in order. I’ll aim to take Stinky to drop the vaccination cards (keep forgetting to take them) and present to the vet while she’s here. And also have the cards ready to go (I think I need to buy stamps, which I can do at the petrol station). Cleaner’s and vets’ presents need packing up and lots of stuff needs putting away. And I want to open all the windows for a bit to get some air through the house as I’ve been too tired and it may be starting to smell of dog/cat a bit much!Dog lick mats and kongs also need doing - which means defrosting some squash. I’m going to try to break the habit of him having these every lunchtime and evening as it makes a lot of extra work and he’s now pretty good at just settling down when I’m working. So they need to be less of a regular thing - he may get more apple and carrot for a bit, but eventually I’d like him to just have his meals (although I do think the fruit, veg, and yogurt is good for him, as is the working out how to get the food out - but I have noticed that he isn’t as obsessive about finishing them as he used to be, so probably isn’t hungry due to lack of exercise!).Cats are out (no stupidly early wake-up call from Stripey cat today, and she did at least wake me with cuddles), dog has been out and had his pre-breakfast snack of charcoal biscuits hidden in towels/blankets/kongs. I have coffee. I could get up, but it’s dark!3

Lots of tidying has been done, and I was about to take Stinky to the vet to drop his present off and get all the vaccination cards signed (and reset the deflation warning system on the car) when I remembered I'm waiting for a delivery that has the final bit of the vet present in it.
Radiators have been bled and the system repressurised. Sometime I really do need to bleed the UFH, but I'm not feeling brave enough. I think it's something to get the plumber to do. Or at least have friends helping with. I also opened all the windows earlier to get some air into the house - I try to do this daily but tend to be a bit slack when it's wet.
Postman has just been, so I'm out of excuses now and probably need to get going and leave my cleaner to get on with stuff without me in the way!3 -
Stinky has dropped his presents at the vets, along with the vaccination cards - which we'll pick up in the next day or so.
Tyre deflation warning recalibrated ... and then it went off again on the way home. So tomorrow - when it's dry - needs to involve checking the tyres and installing the diagnostic gadget that arrived a few weeks ago which I've been ignoring. It might be that a new battery is on the cards. I've got a lot of driving to do over Christmas, so I really don't want to have to keep stopping to check tyres.3 -
Friends over for supper - a spontaneous invitation as I decided it was about time I cooked some actual food. Food was edible (all the veg that needed eating with tofu and spices), and they were very complimentary about it, so hopefully they liked it.
Parcel collection has been booked for tomorrow, so I need to remember to be in. And to get at least some of the cards written (as many as I have stamps for!). Once it's been collected I can go and get more stamps. But obviously need to deal with the car and the stupid tyre pressure warning first.4 -
Obviously the cats didn't get the memo about late nights meaning I need a lie-in. Dog only did a wee when we went out before 6am, so at 7am there was barking as he needed to go out again. I'm actually pleased he's letting me know.
Cats are looking decidedly constipated and Stripey cat was in and out of both cat litter trays last night but not attempting to do anything at all. So they've had some yogurt and pumpkin (not sure who ate the pumpkin, but they didn't eat much), and I cooked the chicken wings for them, so they've got lots of broth. And dry food is off the agenda for a bit. They're both out now as the weather is nice, and looking a bit happier. Chicken is all processed and the bones are in the SC for more stock
Dog has been walked (only a short walk). His paw is healing nicely, but I'm still not up to long walks as I'm a bit wobbly and light-headed.
Lots of laundry done last night, and another load on. I also used electric heating and the immersion, so the boiler didn't kick in as early as usual which was nice and peaceful.
I've called the plumber recommended by my electricians, and will send him some info so he can think about whether he's interested in doing the heat pump design. I've said I want to pay someone to do the design phase at this stage, regardless of later decisions/timescales.
Also messaged the builder, and we'll catch up in the NY to come up with a plan/prioritisation/costs for the next phase of work. I'm sure they'll be thrilled to discover that the first thing that needs doing is a cat flap into the garage
Neighbour who came over last night has offered to help me empty the magnetic filter on the heating and add inhibitor - and potentially bleed the UFH manifolds too. And then we're going to help each other balance radiators as it's a multi-person job. Given that I'm going to be putting a heat pump in, I don't think there's much point in servicing the boiler.
Lovely sunny day, so I need to have a shower and dress, write some cards, put laundry away, strip my bed, hang laundry out, put white wash on, get the car out of the garage and check all the tyres carefully and then stick the diagnostic think in the ODB port (assuming I can find it!) and sync the app. Then once my parcel has been collected I need to recalibrate the tyre pressure warning AGAIN and also collect the vaccination certificates from the vet.
Kindling needs bringing in, and more kindling and logs need shifting from the back of the garden to the log store. Garden stuff needs moving out of the garage and into the shed. Last of the narcissi need planting before they end up growing in a box in the garage! And I really do need to go through presents...3
