Very long journey yesterday, but Stinky was very good. Lovely day today starting with a walk in the beach with my brother and the dogs. Got myself some new walking boots and socks, and found a couple of things in a CS (Haddon Hall china and a seashell). Need to wrap SIL’s present tomorrow and sort out paperwork for kids’ presents too.
Stinky is still being very good despite the resident dog trying to steal his bed and toys… they were playing nicely together, but after my SIL came home she (dog) started being a bit more assertive about not letting Stinky near his bed. So they’ve been kept apart most of the time since, just in case. Or at least when we’re not there.4 -
I have to say I think you’ve dropped really lucky with Stinky. He sounds such a sweet natured beast ❤️
Glad you got there safely! Enjoy today 😊

Thanks all.Yes, I’m very lucky with Stinky. He and my brother’s dog have been getting on pretty well although she’s keen to assert her dominance (he isn’t that bothered!).
lovely day with obscene amounts of very generous presents, delicious food and a nice dog walks.
was somewhat surprised to discover that the battery had drained last night. I can’t think what was using 600-700watts of electricity from 3pm - heating pumps possibly, a few LEd lights, FF, 2x chest freezer. Looking at the charts, consumption went up dramatically at sunset and it’s still running at about 700 watts.
Stinky is up, and once a few more people are up and dressed we’ll head to the beach.6 -
Your neighbours haven’t wired their searchlight into your system have they?? 😉😂
(Just thinking of what would kick in at sunset … 🤔)
So glad you had a lovely day 😊

Had a lovely Christmas but got back yesterday completely exhausted! Stinky is convinced I’m going to get in the car and go somewhere else and doesn’t want to be left behind, not-Fatty has been sitting on me to stop me leaving, and both she and Stripey cat have just made it abundantly clear that breakfast service is lacking.
recycling is out, but I was back too late (and too tired) to fill the garden waste bins yesterday. I’d like to spend some time in the garden but it may not be sensible given how exhausted I am - a couple of short dog walks will probably be my limit, which is a pity as it’s sunny.Today will probably involve laundry, bringing in some kindling, running the robots round, sorting out food (fridge could do with a clean), and possibly nipping to the supermarket (dog needs carrots).6 -
Welcome home! How lovely to be so missed by the animals ❤️
Glad you had a good Christmas. You are allowed a quieter day today - even what you have planned sounds fairly busy 😊

Apparently the cats don't approve of the way I do breakfast and want the neighbour back...
Walk has been done. Kindling basked refilled ... at which point I found that the garage electrics had tripped again. So turned off the septic tank pump, turned the garage electrics back on, checked the lights were working, turned on the pump. No clue whether it is working or not, but will keep an eye on things - I checked the levels in the tanks and they're pretty high, so the second tank clearly wasn't draining before I went away - I did do quite a bit of laundry and have a bath the night before. I know the garage lights were working on the 22nd, as I moved stuff in there. So it must have been not long after that. I've messaged the drain guy, but I'm at a bit of a loss now - not sure whether I can use the WM/DW/bath/shower or not. Hopefully he's working today, but I'm assuming he'll be off until Monday.
Missed the garden waste collection, so have two weeks to fill it up.
Probably should go and do the food shopping.4 -
Have bought lots of reduced veg at the petrol station after filling up the car, so no longer need to go to the supermarket! Remarkably little traffic on the roads which was nice.
Septic tank pump has started running so I'm going to cross my fingers and hope that the problem has resolved itself. I'm going to be brave and make a start on the laundry as I really don't want it hanging around.
It's a pity I'm too tired to enjoy the sunshine today, but hopefully I'll get out for another walk later, and we'll get a bit of sunshine and fresh air tomorrow too.3 -
It's sunny here too greenbee, but ooooo so cold ❄️!
I missed our black bin collection and have to wait nearly two weeks now for the next one. My bin is overflowing 🙈Emergency Fund goal - £1000/2000
