Insurer won't reply or return calls

I had a sickness and loss of employment insurance. Then I was made redundant and made a claim. Now for three weeks I cannot speak to the person at the company, he won't return my calls. They have not refused my claim, they even have not confirmed whether they accepted it or not.

What can I do? My bills are mounting and my account goes to overdraft with consecutive penalties. Frustrating, to say the least.

ALL leagal notices must be served in writing by POST.
They can and will ignore you until you serve it.

Get certificate of postage as well.

It is not personal, it is simply business.
I do Contracts, all day every day.
  • Sorry, I am not that familiar with legal stuff. What notices we are talking about here? Does it mean I need to hire a solicitor?

    Thank you

What legal notices are you talking about? I don't think that helps the average member of the public on here.

Op, I assume that you've filled out a claims form that the company have sent to you. Has that happened yet? Which company is it?

What exactly has happened so far, part from the ignored calls?

The usual thing is that you inform them that you want to make a claim. That can be done by phone, email or snail mail, but I suspect that most claimers would phone as a first action. The company would usually agree to send you a claims form and tell you everything that they require from you to prove the claim.
  • All the forms have been completed, they asked for last 6 months payslips, termination letter and Job Seekers confirmation. On one of the letters from my HR dates were incorrect but this has now been sorted. I have not been told if my claim has been accepted or not and every time I call they are unavailable to talk to and never call back. I have been stonewalled.

    That sounds frustrating.

Is it a well known company?
  • The company is Advent Solutions Management Limited, based in Lombard St. London.

They'll have a complaints procedure. Escalate the issue by following that.

    Ignore any advice from Marktheshark.

Agree with both of these points.
  • Thank you both. Any other helpful tips at this point?
