    I start thinking about it when they get to 3mm ... and certainly well before they get to 2mm.

    Prompted me to check mine, which I though were getting due for replacement (done nearly 25k miles from new) ..... still got nearly 5mm on them...very surprised.
  • 1.6mm in the centre and bald on the edges.

    Pretty much when the mechanic says to.
    I'm awaiting orders to bring the car & winter tyres in - it's "too warm" at present seemingly.

    That's why I said in the other thread that we have the USA to thank for the 1.6mm minimum tread depth in metricated countries

    Their minimum of 2/32" equals 1/16" which is 1.5875mm

    I don't think that the error of 0.0005mm matters much. ;)
