Local Hall Refusing To Return Deposit

I was paid £75 for a complete post tenancy clean of a two bed flat including a very very grimy bathroom. No doubt that this 'charity' are trying it on.
Even adhesive can be removed with a scraper fairly quickly (done it). Or if its white tack stuff, scraper and white vinegar, bubble gum you put frozen peas on it so it goes hard and scrape. Takes minutes. The less equipment, the less expensive it is (only really need some cloths and a mop and bucket).
Places like this give charities a bad name.0 -
I have received four photographs this afternoon, two showing small feint black marks on a floor and a wall, two of them showing the main hall with tables with empty alcohol containers and left over food on them. I'm not quite sure what they were expecting to find?
Can I ask Cardinal Wolsey from above for more information regarding checking if they've altered the times on the photos. Do i need a PC for this or can I do it from my Android phone or my wife's iPhone.
Also last night I realised I have legal cover on my home insurance so will call them when I get home as that seems it will cover this.0 -
I am on the Management Committee and a trustee of my local hall and have been for 10 years.
When we hire the hall out we ask that the hall be left as you would expect to find it. We would not expect to have tables left with food and bottles on it.
We do not have a caretaker, only an occasional cleaner.
The standard of how it gets left does vary - some hirers will take all the rubbish home and also wash and return the tea towels. Others less so but never needing more than a general tidy up.
We do, however, refuse hires for teenage parties.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

They’d be expecting to find all the rubbish removed from the tables , as a bare minimum. Why wasn’t it?0 -

Because as I said before we were offered a cleaning service by them which we paid £80 for, which we were told meant we had to leave at midnight and they would clear up for us.0 -

Hello ######,
Yes, you are absolutely right, I did quote £80.00 for the cleaning service.
We have started offering this service only back in May and have found, after first piloting this service, that the caretaker spends quite a lot of time when he doesn't just clean, but tidy up as well and dispose of all waste. We therefore decided to increase the fee to £100.00.
However, I'm sorry I forgot that you were quoted £80.00 back then and your quote will obviously stand. I have amended the invoice again and attached above. I'm sorry about causing any confusion!
Best regards,0 -
